11 brand new 1975 Norton Commandos found!

11 brand new 1975 electric-start Norton Interstate motorcycles, still in the crate and awaiting final assembly! The horde of Nortons came to light recently following the death of the owner of Motoshop Podevyn in Aalst, Belgium. Incredibly, the bikes are just a small part of an even larger collection.

    Amazing story.

All I can say is FARK.
The trouble is the guys who can afford to buy them will probably never ride them.

Thanks. The thing that bothered me most was the fact that this guy was depriving the roads of so many great bikes.

These bikes have yet to be set up and ridden. I'm sure they'll auction for a lot of cash.

I'll take a black one please.

I half wonder if a few prime kicks, fuel and a battery and Varroooommmmm 35 years forgotten!

Mind you they will need new tyres and tubes!

That pic of all the unopened packing crates full or Nortons is kind of breathtaking...

Put me down for the JPS. Trouble is, as you say they'll get snapped up by collectors who'll stick 'em away probably still in crates for another 20 years who will then sell them to ANOTHER collector for a small fortune. Nobody that will appreciate them for what they are will get a look in.
    How about a KB consurtium?

One of those brand new Nortons at less than NZ$10k would be something I would not be able to resist.

I'd find the money from somewhere!

Like I said on the Bonneville group - They should start them all up and run a book on how long it takes the first one to drop a crank.

    >>who'll stick 'em away probably still in crates for another 20 years<<

I think it's the finest looking bike ever - and a Macintosh touched me up around Hampton Downs (Thanks for that Stroudy) but, I've been a riding with Norton owners on occasion since not long after these machines were built. I don't recall one ride where there was not some sort of mechanical misadventure. And I have photos :-P

Triumphs are best, you know the rest!

The new ones look a bit of all right though
