    Kickstart kits - DRZ400SM

Hey guys, anyone added a kickstart to their DRZ? If so where do you get it from/cost/etc? I see uk forums etc where they all hit ebay for them, I hate ebay, gotta be a more respectable source than that. Can you just get the shop to do it?

I don't know if I'll need it just yet, as my regular commuting should keep the battery charged now, but I know on the fixxer the kickstart has come in handy so freakin' often. Easier than having to put on a bump start display in front of the dairy. Why don't they have them standard anyway, the trick boys get tangled in them too easy?

    ThumperTalk is your friend

As the DRZ400 variants are sold in the US there is a large community of owners and after market parts. You may need to join TT to search some of their links but if you go to:

    http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/ann...php?f=25&a=210

and scroll down a bit you will see a link to the DRZ400 kick starts. Worth searching the threads also as fitment has been discussed. Should take 2-3hrs (apparently). Threads cover some traps that are worth avoiding also.

The kick start is a Suzuki part and fitting one is a good idea.

Be good to hear if you get one.
I have just found out that they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary

Yeah that's where I've been reading about it, but they all get them off ebay. Found a step by step guide to it with pictures too, can't find that now though, will try again tonight.

But yeah if it's a standard suzuki kit then that's cool, I'll ask the shop about it tonight when I pick up the DRZ, if they can install it and it wont mess with the warranty then even better. Will let ya know.

Well, Avon City Suzuki knew of the kit but have never needed to fit one, crash starting easy enough with the motard drz which is easy enough anywhere you are if you're 100% streeting it. I'm gonna just do my commuting thing for a while and then in a year or so see what kind of trouble I get into, then have another look at it. Still like to hear anyone elses stories on them if they get it/have had it done though.

I have a suzuki DRZ400 kickstart kit for sale on trademe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=287965042
See this link for fitting. http://mr-cob.smugmug.com/gallery/136763#4997029_yDKix
Due to unforeseen circumstances, had to sell bike at short notice. Kickstart kit arrived the week the bike sold so never had the chance to fit it.
