Chance of a lifetime 2! You are asked to start a Biker Pub. How should it be done?

Most of us would have visited a pub or two that is "biker friendly". In some cases this only means that they allow us to have our leathers on. In other cases this extends to parking, greetings and even a drink on the house.

With our combined knowledge of what bikers REALLY want from a pub I recon we could design the perfect one.

So, what should a Biker Pub REALLY look like?

Oh and, trade is welcome to add their view here. But try to be positive. please...

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Up this way, the Biker pub is The Puhoi Pub, it goes to extent of conning off and area just for bikes/no cars!
On any Sunday (apart from Easter Sunday because they close that weekend) you could expect anywhere between 100-150 bikes throughout the day? possibly more if its a stunner and theres a poker run on. The food is first class, wont find a better chicken/bacon/cheese burger anywhere.

When its busy, the wait food is no longer what it use to be, at one time you could wait up to 45-50 minutes for your order and that used to be a piss off, but its a popular place.
So good fast food and easy parking is a winning combo.
Oh, it should look historic, not swanky and brash.

Around here, one pub frequented by bikers, is the Patumahoe Bar and Grill. They even have a bikers night last Thursday every month. Good food, good atmosphere, attractive bar staff ( both for the gents and the ladies)

A cloak room where you can shed wet leathers/cordura and get it dry in winter, kind of like a ski lodge.

Also lots of outside seating for summer (thats what makes Puhoi so good).

    Oh, and topless waitresses ;-)

Check out this site www.joesgarage.com.au/ Looks like a really cool pub that caters for both cars & bikes. You would need to cater for more than just bikes or you would starve. Have a separate events room so clubs or organisations could hold meetings there, bike nights , scooter nights, MotoGP night, organised events & rare/unusual bikes on show . Centrally located or you will only get weekend patronage & go broke.

If Deus was liscenced I think it would really take off.

Many a small town pub,Whanga stands out,was a typical local country pub,but about 25yrs ago my ex wifes cousin and partner took over, refurbished and promoted it,turned out way better than they envisaged lol, sadly he died.

Ample parking close to bar, area for jackets,if successful heaps of toilets, and have good basic food, steak sammies, blt, burgers etc, along with great range of beers, and cheaper non alcohol drinks for those riding.

100-150 bikes throughout the day? I've seen that many there just parked. Maybe 100-150 bikes per hour! Could easily be 500 to 1000 bikes a day on a nice warm sunny Sunday.

Large toilet cubicles for us ladies who have to shed many layers of gear in order to get our leaky bits access to the loo! (Even my beloved shewee doesn't always compare to the bliss of a sit-down-and-let-it-go experience. Just my 2cents, or maybe tmi.....

The pub down the road from our place, although of the modern rather than historic variety, is pretty well set up for bikes. Area right in front for bike parking only & outdoor seating right beside it, always bikes parked outside if it's a nice day for a ride. Can't comment on the ladies loos however....
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

    Haha.... a little bit TMI

The country pub would probably do well carrying a small supply of bike parts - esp as it will be open on a Sunday

Large sealed bike parking area with an entrance/exit onto the road only big enough to fit bikes through.
Seating arranged in parking area and off to the sides, allowing punters to sit amongst their bikes and also just outside the building.
Paved area for minimotos (charged out at say $5 for a 15 lap race).
Large indoor/outdoor bar area opening out to both the bike park and beer garden.
Games room with pool tables, darts, boxing ring, motorcycle racing games networked together (both PC and arcade version, might as well add car racing)
    On-site dyno for bragging rights.
LCD screens inside and out running motorcycling events (races/gatherings/technical/new bike releases).
Large array of bike magazines, from as early as possible through to current editions.
    Excellent food.
    Pleasent staff.

I'm sure more will come to mind but this would be a good start. Now if I was to be running this place, I might also add a breathalyser operated exit gate. You blow over the limit the gate doesn't open. If that upsets anyone then I wouldn't want them drinking at my establishment anyway.
