New WR250R
I'd been thinking of replacing the wee sherpa for a while, and after a few test rides, decided that the WRR was my best bet.
I had been waiting patiently for one to turn up in my price range, when I got a PM from Anthrax, telling me that Mike Britton was selling one. By then Mike had sold that one, but he knew that Yamaha were selling off some of their demo models for a very reasonable price. He talked nicely to Yamaha, and managed to get one to Hamilton for me to look at (in white, as requested). It was really good of Mike to sort the bike out for me, and I owe Andy a beer for letting me know the bike was for sale
Clint had to do some hasty suspension adjustment in Mike's garage to get the bike short enough for me to ride, then we headed off into the rain to have lunch with Tri Boy and Kanny. Even with the adjusted suspension, it's still a bit too tall, so further lowering will be required.
The continuing heavy rain gave me an excellent opportunity to trial my new Rain-off overgloves on the way home. They kept my hands nice and dry, and warmer than they would have been otherwise (no heated grips on the WR yet).
Due to the weather, and fairly knobbly tyres, it was a cautious trip home. And the dash kept getting covered with water, so I couldn't read the speedo. A screen will be on the modifications list.
Once I was home, and thawed out, it stopped raining, so I got a couple of quick photos on the driveway. I hoped to get out and take a few more photos yesterday, but spent the day cleaning and rat-proofing my kitchen instead
I'll be doing a few things to it straight off - heated grips, handguards, hacking the seat and putting on some roady tyres; then moving on to luggage racks, bash plate, and a safari tank.
