i didnt use to do it but my m8 told me he recons i can get much more petrol in, so i decided to see how much more k's i can get out this way (doing 3 trail runs

)
than i will decide

and as for having to get off, sorry bud but you can always pay of the card at the pump

if you are reayl lazy (i dont think you can get AA points this way tho ?!?)

I don't sit on de bike to fill any longer. Never really put much thought into it till I read the other thread about it. After that it just seemed like a risk I did not need to take

The Sporty gets over 55mpg ( sort of 4.5 litres per 100km - I think) and the difference between filling upright and filling on stand is over half liter+-.

And had a lot of you bothered to read my previous post you would have relaise that CB pays

and MOST of the time when I fill up while riding solo it is local Caltex where I have an account so it's "put it down for me eh? - they know me and don't bother asking what account - and don't give me grief about getting off the bike or taking my helmet off when I DO get off to pay.

Each to their own - after all if you get rear ended while standing beside your bike then you are also likely to get run over .

Brings a whole new meaning to toasted nuts, doesn't it! I always get off my bike because I'm not overly tall and trying to lean over and unhook the fuel pump nozzle while seated on a bike would not be an easy task. Also, in the days of my RG150, I usually had a tank bag on and needed to remove that to fill it. With the Beemer, most attendents look at where the tank should be (adjacent to the bars) and scratch their heads (it's under the seat and the filler is on the right hand side!) - not that I'd let them fill it in a million years anyway! I like to fill it myself so the bike doesn't get scratched and they don't drip fuel on it - and I'm happy for them to stand around and chat while I'm doing it.

I've obviously never over-filled the Tame Savage cause I've never had that problem. The RX was the one when I decided to get every last drop I could into the tank. I don't know if it had an overflow pipe or not but most of the stuff seemed to be leaking out slowly from around the tank seal when I put it back on the side stand.

Would love to see someone with a one of the new F650s try and fill up whilst sat on the bike!
