    Cool Badger Upgrade Bike

So I'm starting to think about this now... wont be too long until my 250 training wheels are off and I can get a bigger bike YAY

I'm quite keen to do some touring (I've got a mad plan to hoon around the South Island next year) so I want something with a bit of grunt, and some fairings! VTR250 at speed in wind = not fun.

I'm not looking at anything larger than 650cc, would be happy with 400. Quite keen on the SV650, lookswise and from what I've heard from others, but obviously I can't testride just yet.

I'm quite tall so height isn't an issue at all.

    Any suggestions?

I know it's pretty exciting to think about - the reality is you should wait till you've got your 6F then go test ride everything. I had all kinds of ideas about what I wanted to get when I eventually went to a bigger bike, and ended up with something I wouldn't have expected. The main thing is to establish what you can afford and then look at everything in that range 400-750cc. You're bound to see lots of bikes that take your fancy. If you're keen on doing lots of touring you might find something bigger that 400cc more comfy. If you're set on fairings that narrows it down a bit. IMO the SVs look better with fairings, but even then they look a bit weird. As sil3ntwar asked- are you looking at new or used? Suitable faired sports/touring bikes might be Katana, VFR (get a VFR - I did it's awesome), SV, Bandit, FZ6, ER6F. Dunno really, if you are into twins then maybe the ER6F might be a good bet.
