My ride is a Gen 2 'Busa, be nice to hear your advice....cheers

These freer flowing air filters are much of a muchness. People say that Pipercross are better made than K & N however it could just be personal preference.
Both are cleanable and have a good warrantee so I wouldn't worry too much.
I bought the BMC version
Made a huge difference to the performance of my Tiger. I don't think you should expect the same.

Well if it's any help, I've just ditched my K&N in favour of a Pipercross. By all accounts it filters like stock, but flows a little more, as opposed to the K&N which flows more and filters less. Time will tell I guess?
Nunquam Non Paratus
Had a Pipercross for awhile know, apart from some induction noise bugger all has changed.Aftermarket filters from my research and as i am interested in such things so theres been plenty are somewhat over-rated in the great scheme of things.Truth is neither K nN or Pipercross offer any better air flow than many OEM filters in good condition, apart from that many aftermarket filters offer much less filtration for no more flow. That aside there easy to clean, not that an OEM one is hard.Read a test on aftermarket filters for earth moving equp awhile back and the results re filtration were shocking compared to OEM stuff. After fitting my Pipercross i plugged in my Yosh box hoping to take advantage of the supposedly significant flow gains but na waste of time.

Dont take my advice mate, just telling it as i see it after 38 years of fucking about with bikes. There will be plenty along soon who know better.Im a little old fashioned and still have some Yosh exhaust bits in the shed whilst my old S still wears the original oval 2 Bros cans,i dont for one second believe the ridiculous claims made by many makers re the HP gains by bolting up a set of baffled (or otherwise) cans to a TL,i will however use the bits when i get a set of oversize headers made up and gut the airbox and adjust the fuel. That aside they sound better than anything aftermarket made.........still.

I fitted a BMC filter to mine and agree with comments above that it does bugger all regarding performance gains. Only plus is that it's washable, whereas with stock air filters you need to buy a new one everytime its time to replace it.
They sound cooler, and for the pittance they cost, that's a good a reason as anyHaving said that, unless I'm buying other bits, I don't go looking for them.
I have a K&N, but the only reason I got it was its washable, was going to save me a few bucks with replacement OEM ones.I didnt notice any difference in performance.

BMC sounds good but ...I was quoted 180 for a K&N today and 265 for a BMC , wow... my math tells me that's 47% more for probably little difference, if any.
I too resent having to fork out for a new filter at every service so....Hmmmm might spring for a K&N . The $ don't sound too bad compared to the cost of importing one and having to wait 6 weeks and save maybe 40 pingers ....?

Hi, piper cross on my sxv brilliant, induction noise sounds like it wants to suck ya undies off fron under ya leathers, breaths real well, fits well and easy to clean. Good HP gain +2.5
BMC on my st4s, good induction noise, fits well, easy to service, O2 needed a little tweeking, little HP gain, but with arrows carbon cans good gains.
I'm probably a dumbass for paying 175 for a K&N filter today but, at least it was here within 24hrs and just installed . A breeze to fit , though I'm not sure why a Gen2 'Busa needs 13 screws to hold the airbox lid down ....I guess it's to do with the air pressure/ suction thing when it's gulping the air at 250 kmh and still heading for 5th gear ..... ?
Box it came in states it has a Million Mile warranty and, 48,000 km between cleans not sure how that works though .........
