New Bike
Financial Caution
- Police
- Chewed Tyres
- New plastics & bits after the whole "Hey this is fun........FUCK ME!!!......*BANG*"
- Viagra, so you can feel this satisfied all the time
- Go fast bits, to look cooler
Ask Tiger how his life changed when he added some excitement. Its dangerous stuff
It sucks taking the bus, because the new bike just cost you your license......

I have been/am in a similar position to you. I have found the bikes win over prudent decisions every time! If you are financially spread thinly and have many commitments, then the Gixxer will probably stress you. How,ever, if[like me] , you could afford to service the debt without resorting to bankruptcy, I doubt you would ever regret it. I loved my k7 gixxer. I love my k9 gixxer. I love my k6 Gixxer! My bank manager does not have a kind word to say!!!
It will be terrible if you are laying a dark box realising you can't do anything any more and it's cold as well!
If you want to and can do it, grab the chance and do it!
Worry about the consequences when you are in the box, you will have lots of time on your hands by then!
I am very close to my "use by date" and am already feeling the hot breath of "reality" on my neck and I don't like it!![]()
I'd say hold on for a while - but then there's a reason I have an old bike instead of a flash new(er) one. It's the big pile of money we hand the bank every month for the pleasure of living in our house (double what we have to pay).
So eventually, I should be able to get a nice bike. One day.
Naah.. Dump any spare on your mortgage. The interest rates are low and tipped to rise and you can't beat having a bit of equity to play around with. i.e. get any bike you want when you are in that euphoric state of being mortgage free. Or go impulse and bugger it...get the bike, get locked in to same bike for some years maybe??
Or you could sell the SV, ignore the Gixxer, buy a VTR1000F, get more power and better handling (and a cool sounding bike) AND make money out of the deal to pay off your loan!!
Sounds like a no brainer to me....
If you need to ask you need "financial caution"...
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
Man! That's pure poetry that is - (albeit schmaltzy poetry...)
But you have hit the nail right on the head - that is exactly what this vixen of a machine has done...
I went and had another look this morning. Sat on her again. And heard that little voice in my head again...Too late for sense I reckon...fuck the bank - gimme the bike!!
Great piece of writing Smifffy. You really should write for Mills and Boon...
. “No pleasure is worth giving up for two more years in a rest home.” Kingsley Amis
That sounds like perfect sense to me
I have edited Headbangers post, which I am sure is now befitting considering the recent state of mind you are currently in!
"I think we should have a KB'erthink tankcelebration in your liquor shop while you go and do somemore testriding on your "new to me" vixen."![]()
No body move... I dropped my brain
