Hmmm... best one was a GT-25 turbo subaru wagon... they see L plate and decide they want to race me.. rev engine etc (and the female driver laughs at the poor unsuspecting noob) so I start laughing at them.

'ZXR = win' .....and by a big margin.

It might just be a subaru 'dark crew ghostly riderzzzz' thing mabey.

I love you!!! (err, in a very manly "I'll buy you a beer" kind of way you understand!)

And Zed, I agree totally. Alot of car drivers really enjoy seeing us doing wheelstands, taking off a warp speed and otherwise doing "cool" shit! Only problem, it's our licences and lives on the lines!

But, as Zed said "I'm happy to comply" - sometimes
The BEST feeling I've had so far, is when you beat them off the lights, but you see them realise it and hang back (quite a bit), then all of a sudden build up speed to pass you at speed to prove a point or something. I wait until they are just about level with me (5 or 10 meters behind) then floor it. I can only imagine what they are saying when they never even make it even with me!!! hehehehehe One tool did that with his girl friend next to him... You got some shplainin to do sonny

Waaaaaaaaay back in about '91 a guy in a then new Audi Quattro Turbo tried to take me on on my $1500 FZ400R. I think the Quattro was worth about the same as a good house. We were turning right from a set of lights onto a stretch of open road. I had blipped past him at the previous lights, so he got all fired up and barged infront of me while we were giving way to oncoming traffic. Once the traffic cleared, he planted boot. I had to wait a smidgeon longer for the cars to clear, and then gave chase.
I will never forget the look of utter disgust and dismay on his face as I blasted past, giving him a freindly wave with my left hand. That one kept me smiling for days.
My daughter telling me like it is:
"There is an old man in your face daddy!"

This group of uni students in a gt libero tried to race me at the dominion road lights during peak hour traffic - great idea.
Funny thing is that I always see him at the Kate Edgar commons but he doesn't know me cause I was wearinga helmet

Sounds like a blast! Eventually however, if you continue to drag cars off on your 250 you will get a rude awakening to the fact that some cars will tear your hide off!!

don't EVER try race a mazda GTX when your riding an sr250, i kept up with him for about 20m and was thinking hey wow i'm keeping up, then his turbo kicked in and well yeah it wan't pretty and he knew he'd taken me down that gtx sounded worked though you shoulda heard the turbo sucking up the cats and small children off the side of the road, can't wait to get a quicker bike then i'll be a little more respectable, all i can beat at the moment is those civic boy racers

Heck yeah, some of those things can be pretty bloody quick. I came across a super low white WRX with the plate 'REX2C'...I'm sure I've seen it in some performance car mag once...the thing was quick as hell!! We were neck and neck up to 2....needless to say, it was quick. So cool being off a 250 though, the CBR250 wouldn't want to even know about it

Done that! Then they give you the finger. Then you burst out laughing (like almost overdoing it). Then they glare at you and look (even) more sullen. Then you smile and wave, twist the throttle, pull alongside and just as they get all het up again, flick on right indicator and turn off down side street.

Nothing like it for confusing the 'wannabe' racers.
