the day the 6L holden motor produces 100bhp/L ill go buy one. All the other motors can quite easily.
i love holden drivers in their v8's thinking that they can beat anything on the road i was in my levin few months ago and this old fella in an ss comodore pulled up looking like he owns the place, me being young and reckless just couldnt give up that opportunity.
    5.7 vs 1.6
hmm ok so he is in a holden = auto
after initial take off im 1/2 a car lenght in front thinking yes now i just gota hold the lead. To my surprise i start edging away trough the gears right up to about 140 where i had a nice lead and didnt want to risk going any faster. This made me feel good , but what made me feel even better was the old mans face, from his facial expression i would have to guess that the poor guy was constepated.
needless to say tho once i stoped accelerating he went flying past and didnt slow down to save whats left of his ego.
So since the 5.7 is not giving them enough power to weight to take on a 1.6 the only logical explanation is to increase capacity, its not like petrol is getting expansive, and our natural resources depleted

Bahahaha that reminds me of my most memorable trip on the NW'ern ever, heading for howick - going over the limit by a little, filtering through cars etc (was about 11am, still had a lot of cars floating around!) next thing I see is two (I kid you not) 80 year olds AT LEAST, in a big Holden HSV - I was flabbergasted, so I caught up to them and stared in the window and just about fell off laughing, to make it worse they thought that I wanted a race, so they take off - I refused to loose to people 6x my age - my dad would have woop'ed my ass if I did loose, and so I gave pursuit - I was next to them within seconds a quick wave and I was gone - was riding the limiter (193kmph, had not de-restricted at that point ) for a minute so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it, then I kid you not they rip past me - what was more scary is the way they drove, they sat in the car motionless, like they were lost or didn’t know what they were doing, lifeless in fact, both pale white - So i take off once again - made a new lane for myself when we hit a big bottle neck and that was the last I saw of them, I couldn’t stop laughing until I missed the off ramp, and had to take a different one which confused me, but at arrival I told tristanK and we were both laughing about it, I wish I had a bike camera at that time.

I rarely take the bait from cagers, let them pass, don't show any interest in dragging the morons, then effortlessly leave them for dead in traffic or the next set of twisties

With regards to cage vs. cage drags, a word of warning from a recent unpleasant experience...............avoid dragging off big v8 tow trucks in Manurewa with drivers who look like they could of won the Mongeral Mob "most scarey f**ker" competition and need to take a lifetime membership to Anger Management classes......

WOAH - that sounds remarkably like the voice of experience talking...

.. that being the case (or even just looking at the sentiment of your message)... I agree!

OH that reminds me of another funny story, some dorks/big berly blokes thought it was funny to chuckle/point at my bike from their "dumb" truck when I was limping it home from the crash, they got the biggest airfull ever - they soon wound up the window and pissed off - maybe its all an intimidation thing although I dont recommend telling someone in a vehical 20x bigger than you where they can shove it, just asking for trouble...

Ok I will stop with my stories.

well while everyone else is reliving their youth...

back before I had a bike and had no concept of how fast they really are, I had a heavily wanked up Lancer GSR with very little visual modification (i.e. none). Was great fun meeting the cap backwards brigade at the informal traffic light drag meets, I don't recall ever losing to a car. One night, a certain TL riding KB member before his move to Auckland lined me up. Expecting to receive a solid pounding, I lined him up, and duly obliged by delivering a good performance, although the car was still in the early stages of development so not a stunner by later comparisons. TL farked off into the distance on the back wheel, we hit our end point, turned around at the next intersection and maxed the car out on the way back (i.e. a wee way north of WAY over the speed limit). Said TL rolls up beside, gives a heads up and disappears again.

Get back and have a post-match with the TL rider, and he was amazed, reckoned it was the closest he'd ever come to a car keeping up - hell he only beat by a mile!!
