I have an idea which invovles making a product that requires electrical current.
My dad who has a licence to make stuff for his company is trying to desuade me of making said product till I get my licence.
Ok, so what's this got to with bikes?
Well, on a racetrack you can ride without a road licence, ride a bike that doesn't have a WOF or Rego. So why can't you make a device which aides in racing but doesn't actually get taken on the track?
Am I missing a great big point here due to stuborness or is does my dad need to learn a thing or two? (either option is upsetting)
His points are as follows.
-If it's made by a qualified electrician, it's OK
-If it is under 110v, it's OK
-If it has little to no electrical interference, it's OK
-If it passes a ESTI specifications, it's OK
He also keeps going on about these little stickers with his number on them which he puts on everything he alters/makes/installs.....?
My point is
It's on a race track....different rules apply.....
.....do they or don't they?
I don't particularly care who's right or wrong in this case, but what I actually have to do to make my product.... when I do, it'll hopefully benefit our little racing community.
