    Yamalink

    Hi!
Does anybody know of an NZ distributor for these, or any other brand of lowering link that can be purchased locally? Otherwise I'll order off the net. Cheers!

Have you asked the Yamaha place on the shore? They're pricing up a lowering kit for John's roadbike & mentioned a supplier who's started bringing lowering kits in (unsure if its just for roadbikes though)

Ooh didn't think of them, good call! They're pretty nice/helpful there. Don't pop in there much cause they're not on barry's pt like all the other ones. Suppose I should now I'm repping the blue!
Laserracer and Jinxy: Can't seem to find ones for the 125 in those brands :0 After looking around some more I'm thinking maybe only yamalink do them, bugger was hoping to get a cheaper generic version
New bike is pretty cool ... Great step up from the 100, seems like just what I wanted. Really like it and can't wait to give it a proper blitz out at the sandypit
As you can see, I'm a little short for it in bare feet, haha:

The KDX one is teh same thicknes not like your dogbone one (I think that is what they are called). The one on your Yamaha is thicker at one end than the other. So instead of a simple 30mm thick bit of Ali, you would need a sizable chunk of 60mm thick ali (best guess on sizes and what is available) and so the cost increases heaps. Unless they are stupid money (like well over $300) I wouldn't bother with trying to get one made. Not a big ask of an engineer, but just the time for them to design it and if you fucked it up you just wasted your moneys....

Yamalink is around $300 NZD with shipping (here: http://www.motorcycleloweringlinks.c...-lowering-link ). NZ dollar is good at the moment so may as well go for the tried and true I guess. Decent chunk of change for 1.75 in/4.44 cm, but I'm not gonna get any taller?

    Oh, about a foot
Nah, just whatever I can do without messing it up. So 1.75" with the yamalink, and a couple of inches out of the seat. Heard about doing something with a spacer thing in the rear shock but not too clued up on the details? Haven't set the sag yet either, tho that'll have to be done with the yamalink anyway.

Don't shave too much out of the seat. More than 6mm or so, and that frame rail gets awfully uncomfortable at the end of a long day.
