One can only hope that rational selection of mates would prevent procreation with the fine selection of chauvinism represented in this forum.
What's for dinner?
Once - a long time ago it was enough just to really like riding motorcycles........
It happens, dont worry about it.
here's my favourite stories.
Nice young male Service station attendants, " Hi mate, nice bike. Oops, sorry ma'am" ( been getting this one for 30 years now )
At Boyles Kawasaki, went in with Hubby to ask for some parts for the zeds. Nice young chap starts to talk to hubby who nods in my direction, mutters something along the lines of " I dont know, it's HER bike. She knows what she's after"
At a bike shop in Mt Maunganui when we picked up one of the zeds. WHile Hubby is getting it into the van,I poddle off to have a look at a new helmet. A nice young man, tells me how to do up a D-ring helmet and then asks what Im riding. blushed when I told him I'd just bought the old zed from out the back.
At TSS, taking a wee bike for a test ride, nice young man asks if I have my full license. " for 30 years Dear "

When I bought my car, the wing mirror was broken and I ordered a new one, the parts guy suggested I get "some man" to put it on for me...
Generally though, with my bike, the comments have not been chauvinistic.. just awed![]()

Funny story....someone wanted to borrow the rear tyre off my SV for a race meet at Manfeild. Being the very giving and kind person I am (OK....stop larffing) I agreed.
Took the wheel off but have to admit no way I could get it off the rim . So off to a couple of local (car) tyre shops went I. Why kill myself was my thinking. The response was "Well ya Hubby took it off surely he can take it off the rim"? Ummmm.....no I dont have one of them
Then there was the time I watched a bloke strip a bike down, put all the parts in a container. I had offered to help but got the raised eyebrow. You know the one....like what would a girl know.
He went to put it all back together and had some bits left over. As I sipped on my bourbon I pointed and said they go there.....was bloody priceless.
It can be entertaining when them fellas act like that.

I hear you Sister
I'm afraid it hasn't changed in the 40 years that I have been riding , so get used to it.
In fact milk it, when you get the chance.
WOF Testing Stations are a good place. Used to take not only my bike but also hubby's as I could get a WOF when he couldn't.
Also dropped my bike at an intersection (stalled as I took off) and I didn't even have to break a nail (one of those on your fingers , for you guys) as I just took off my helmet, and had 2 big burly muscley guys hop out of their trucks saying "What happened to you Dear" as they picked my bike up off the road. And they muttered about how heavy it was! Hey, do you think that girls' bikes are lighter than boys?????
But I do have to admit that I am getting less tolerant of the "You are female so you don't know what you are talking about, let alone how to ride a bike" shit.
