So I rocked up to TCWNR tonight (having not read nought since last night) and I caught up with a few of the boys, turned around and you were there! What a trooper! 'Twas lubberly as always to see ya smiling (the best birfday pressie i got today).

Now, I hope you're asleep in bed getting some much needed rest and healing time. I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we want you taking it easy and recuperating.

Also, since swoop or FM is planning a fetish party, it will be easy to spank you for shouting the beer tonight.

    Naughty girl.

Awesome to see you tonight KP. And your older sister.
You are such a special young lady who has touched so many hearts. You mum must be so proud of you.
Take your time and heal well. And If you ever need anything, you know you just have to shout.

ps. I don't think your new style of helmet you were sporting tonight will catch on. Too much wind noise and I'm sure those antennas will interfere with the radar. Do they come in any other colour?
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Not a pain killer. The exact opposite. With heightened awareness you feel every sore part in your body

I concur. It's a bummer if they take you off them too soon tho' (Apparently they worry you are going to turn into a junkie)...cos then it hurts!

Good luck with the healing Katiepie.

If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.

    Update from Doctors visit

I had a re-check with a new doctor today at the Hutt Hopsital. It was a fantastic visit. They tightened the screws into my head for the halo. They then cut off the large cast on my leg to check how my injuries underneigh were doing as I've been in tears from very intense pain.

It's the first glimpse I have been able to have on whats going on with my leg. It seems that I do not have pins in my ancle as I was informed. But only a metal plate along the break down my fibular (spelling sorry?). They took out the stitches from my operation, and cleaned the wound. I was then expecting them to re-cast my leg. But, The doc decided to leave it off for good. I was blown away and absoluely thrilled! For me this means I can now bend in my halo brace. I can now dress myelf, I can now shower better and sleep better. So so happy for that decision. I tell ya, its going to be a very decent scar right down my leg, but I'm completely ok with that and it doenst worry me a bit.

I have had very intence pain shooting through my leg when i move it from horizontal position to vertical. Each morning I start off in tears for half an hour until it settles down. It's just a new pain that I will adapt to in good time, and I get through it once i have more weight on it and movement.

I also discovered I have a fractured scaptula which explains the pains i have been having my using my shoulder on the crutches. But, now that I know this, I know how to minamise that movement. Good to know huh? It made me laugh.

The halo looks like it be on for the full 3 months, but that time will fly by. From there I then have 2 months in a standard neck brace while i build up enough muscle in my neck to hold my head up again, as the halo has been doing it all for me.

Tonight I hade a shower, best I could. The halo can not get wet so its selective showering. But I have hired a seat to sit on in the shower, and I feel like a new person. I'm clean, wearing lovely clean clothes. I had to buy some tops today as I have to pull them all up over me waist due to the brace. So i am feeling fantastic. We are going to attmpt the wash a few sections of my hair on Wednesday. A tricky one as the contact srews into my skull can be easily infected but I reckon well should be able to make a good effort safely.

My mum is living with me as a live in carer. and is being truely exceptional. I cant thank her enough for all she is doing for me and the help she is giving me. I couldnt be home without her and I am so thankful.

I feel fantastic! Today is a very good day. Looking forward to my new found independance thanks to my free leg. No more track pants, I can wear normal cloths and feel like my old self again

Rock and roll, - what a great day!
