Oh, and some words of wisdom from my surgeon when I asked what I was allowed to do. He said "do what your body tells you it can do". Those words helped me when my brain wanted to do something but my body was not ready.

If you are what you eat, then I'm fast, cheap and easy
I have a gas axe and a welder! What do you mean "it won't fit"?
Forgive me for asking, are we talking about the Cliffhanger road?
Thanks Pete. Yes I sure did get lost. Very very lost. Not like me to take so many wrong turns, as I was sort of familiar with the area. Thats what i have been trying to figure out. It was against my nature to head in the complete wrong direction when I generally knew which way to head. Who knows why I did it. It frustrates the hell out of me. Will go out there again soon to try and understand. But alas, a very wrong turn.I'll be much more careful next time
It's the reading of the map whilst riding that's the issue. You know chicks can't read maps!
Hey Katie, Give me a shout when your up to seeing visitors. I would have come around but thought you might like a bit space with all of the other visitors you will no doubt have already had. Heal well (and quick) my friend.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker
We came, We listened, And in one voice we answered
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
Hey u were not far from SH2 u just turned left instead of right . Good news on the signs as there have been some majors on that corner as it very deceiving especially when the power lines go straight ahead going over that hill but the road doesnt . Luckly from your calls and txts when trying to find you 1 of the rescue guys that works on that dairy farm at the end of that road figured out where you were when u said about the 2 water tanks . The cops , rescue teams and fire brigade were all around the gladstone area looking at the time .
I think the fire brigade guys still have your scarf too ..
Just going my own way
Gunrunner.. I still can't thank your friend and his team enough. Not even close. I owe them everything. I truely do. Not sure why I did turn left, that's the biggest issue I have with all this as I new the correct way was right. But, the teams on the day did and exceptional job, and after 4 hours I do remember how cold I was through and through. I do remember smiling at them when I saw them. I remember knowing everything was just fine from that point on. These guys are my true heros, along with a friend of mine on the day. And I wish I could do more to thank them all.
I have taken beers and cards over to all the departments that I understand were involved on the day. Hope they enjoyed a cold one when they could
Look - not putting blame but I have a reason for asking... but do you think getting lost had anything to do with the accident. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I monitor that stuff all the time while i ride - I start making poor decisions, get lost etc and I stop and check blood sugars because it all goes down hill quickly.
Unexplainable accident after a day out may point to some underlaying 'something'.. dehydration, low / high blood sugars etc.
Just thought - we dont want this happening again - I'm still knackered from wood, not sure I can do that again ;-)
This is a very interesting point. And if you all want my honest answer here I will give it. Yes, I agree. Completely. I think something went wrong for me before I actually crashed. As mentioned, that direction is not like me. I cant exlain why I got lost. But I do believe something has made me keep going, when its rather obvious it was the wrong way. It is driving me crazy trying to think it through. So a very valid point, and something I will always keep in the back of my mind. Thank you
It is great to read that you are on the mend. A long road to ride, but you are on your way. (slowly)
Thats the closest I can do as an internet round of applause for your spirit. Well done.
