Nice! I am not sure I will make this weekend. I might just have a few wee pootles on my own to get used to the adventure riding thing, without holding others up! I might follow one of your routes on motowhere.

I understand your nervousness, I was the same when I started out but you will find we are mostly human, maybe join us at Te Uku for the ride to Kawhia? It's good roads and if you've had enough wander off after that.....

Whatever you do, do it at your speed, it's all about enjoying the ride rather than getting there first.

The DR definitely looks too clean at the moment.

Be very afraid of the gravel on a DR without a bashplate, I have seen too many with oil dripping on the ground...........cardboard and zip ties will suffice if you get desperate tho, you just need to slow the rocks down a bit.

I thought every one was kidding about that... I am glad I bumped it to the top of the 'list of things to do to the DR' list then.

You made it through these roads on your 1200gs, so you have advanced from newbie on a seriously huge bike, to a guy on a more practical bike.
How does she feel with the larger tank?

It may not be a race, but if it was you would be winning.

Haven't really noticed actually. Did Kaipara Hills rd the other day and it felt fantastic. Definately more comfortable on the smaller bike.
