Whatever you do, do it at your speed, it's all about enjoying the ride rather than getting there first.

    Hi wysper & others,

I agree with Crisis management and re-iterate Whatever you do, do it at your speed . I think it's a very important concept for riders at any level to keep in mind. It's fairly easy for most bikes to match each other (in general terms) but if something gets nasty you need to be within your own zone of limits to try and sort things out (if that makes sense). Well that's my very brief version anyway...

Yep I know this from road riding. I am happy to keep my own pace. I seem to be one of the rare breed that doesn't mind spending most of my time at legal speeds. However being a complete novice on the adventure side, I didn't want to jump on a ride that would a) be well beyond me and possibly b) be with riders that wanted to go much quicker.

Sounds like a great bunch of guys though.. so if I can make it I am pretty sure I will have a blast and learn heaps.

My exhaust repairs are failing I'll have to keep an eye on it. Still in at the moment but going to have to get a new muffler in the very near future. I was hoping it was going to last a bit longer!

I've just looked at the forecast and it looks a little bit wet for tomorrow, I don't mind showers but don't see much point in riding in the rain all day, what do you lot think?

I think I will give it a miss if it is raining steadily. It is raining pretty solidly now. I have just received my bash plate from gpcustom, so that will be on my list of jobs to do this afternoon.
Was going to be collect the waikato tag but can't be arsed in this rain!

I certainly didn't request this weather specially.....anyway it's blue skies here again so I think I'm just going to go ahead and if it turns really nasty I will cut the ride short, I look forward to seeing whoever turns up tomorrow !

I'lll still be in. I don't mind rain too much but from the satellite pic at 15:00hrs today it looks like there will be some reasonable weather (IMHO). See you lot at 09:00hrs.

I spent all day yesterday out in the weather at Hampton Downs. Looking at the forecast now (metvuw and metservice) i'm not particularly enthused with the idea of another one!
I'm going to bail and get my exhaust sorted out.
