Hey Guys.
Thanks for the good ride. Some tricky moments for my first ride. Including but not limited to, having to avoid farmers dogs, almost hitting a cow and various slippery surfaces.
I had a blast, and am looking froward to more rides.
It was great to meet you all - unfortunately I have forgotten most of your names already.. although I reckon at least I will be able to put faces to user names and bikes.
And best of all - Harry got dirty!
home safe, Cheers Iain.
Good day, good to meet same more KBers, i really enjoyed the clayish surface on that coast road.
i nipped over the Old mountain rd if your wondering where i got to wysper, with my tyres and gearing i wasnt keen to do that hill in the wet.

Oops. Well it didn't go entirely according to my plan but nothing major and no ACC claimI'd been in touch with Iain by SMS after I got home, by the way.
I'm debating whether to write it up properly but essentially it was 60-ish on apporach - fishtail on right hander at crest - not happy - possibly grip of death on bars - over-corrected? maybe a touch of brake but involuntary if so - ran wide into the clay on the left -- even more unhappy - mud - sky - mud - sky - mud - look around to see if the bike is coming towards me - nope - "you twat".
I really appreciate Rogson's patient efforts to get me up and running. The brake pedal was bent around a LONG way, jamming the peg up against the frame. The fork and bars were out of alighment, plus a few other bits. I had my tools with me and Rogson demostrated how to use them.
It was quite good to have a long ride home. I tiptoed as far as the Nikau Cave cafe, who were very nice and do good coffee and great carrot cake. Then I cleaned her up a bit and toddled off to the 22 and back via Pukekohe. Nerve was more or less back by the time I got to Puke and a semblance of lean angle was restored in the corners.
Right thumb joint pretty sore, otherwise not too bad. The gear did its job.
I was disappointed I stopped trying to ride it out but shit happens. 100% rider error under zero pressure. I'll improve.
Great to meet CM and Cary for the first time and Rogson again. Sorry I missed out on meeting the others and held you all up!
Cheers - Chasio
