    Buying a K3 GSXR1000

Just wanted to know of any things I should look out for/get checked before buying a used K3 GSXR1000? (around 30-40,000km?) Any things specific to this bike that I should be wary of? Bad engine sounds, wear in the certain places or signs of extreme stunting etc? I know service history can be a biggie.

Have been saving since the start of the year for one so I would hate to get a lemon.

I wanna be a star on my gsxr. How much would you expect to pay?

*EDIT* Just realised there is a similar thread on here at the moment. But this is specific to make and model so I guess it's justified?? :P

If the bike has been wheelied alot they are known to do 2nd & 3rd gears which can show up with a whine in the gearbox while using those gears . As a rule if it has been ride normally they are bullet proof as . Enjoy

They are pretty bullet-proof, even without religious servicing. Just check the usuals, steering stops, headstock bearings etc.

I raped mine for over 20,000 km in this manner and there were no weird sounds coming out of it when I sold it. I did put good oil and a new filter on it every 5000km though.

I bought it with 30,000km on it with some very minor cosmetic damage on it for $6000. This was just over a year ago. They are without a doubt the best sport bike for the money.
