I dont believe in a 'brotherhood of bikes' and more than a brotherhood or car drivers or 4x4 owners.

Sure - I might make more of a effort to stop and help a biker - but is his a kindred spirit just because of his mode of transport - no.

Besides - look at my sig and you get a pretty good idea of DB's attitude of a biker in trouble - Brotherhood - I dont think so.

I had this a couple of times recently. The last straw saw a guy undertake me, (damn near shove me out of the way) after I split past him on Hobsonville road, if you've seen that road in the morning you'd understand why, big flush median and everything, so not like I cut him off, just bruised his ego, there was even more traffic ahead for me to split past.

Had I needed to turn left/swerve to avoid something or stop he'd have taken me out. Completely unneccessary. I was in the right wheel track and he still squeezed past, which explains the next part! I did the un-intelligent thing and reacted, he was too scared to even look at me when I pulled beside him and started yelling, and asking him to pull over so I could puchasize his face. You'll find these twatts cowards when it comes down to it. All tough in a big steel cage but absolute cowards when you call them out. Not a smart move on my part, hardly something i'm proud of, but I guess everyone loses it every now and then. I couold'nt believe he would'nt even look at me though. I sat beside him instead of splitting for a long way, and he went from aggro attempted murderer to absolute little girl immediately.

Not a reccommended course of action, but it does show you what kind of losers these idiots are. Just feel good in the fact that they are probably just compensating for a tiny penis.

I had a moment like this a couple of years back. a guy in a old school pajero didnt like the fact that I was smart enough to travel on somthing that didnt have to wait in traffic when stationary ( or didnt know it was legal and tried to run me off the road, took about 5 lunges at me for about 600m down a side street (after turning off the highway we were on at the time) enough was enough and I snapped, ripped the mirror that is on the bonnet right off and threw it at the windscreen, in that moment as I heard it bouncing off the glass I realised perhaps that was a bit much but boy did he get the message and back off quick, that and I took off before he could get my plate number! I waited for repercussions but there were none , I was not then and am not now proud of it so I learned my lesson and now I find other less potentialy dangerous ways to deal with it!!!

I will shimmy up to the front to get away from the car exhausts whenever possible/safe.
I don't like being stuck behind stinky cars anymore than I like risking my safety for a metre or two.

If I do make it to the front I tend to be a little quicker off the lights but don't usually get a bad response for it

I always laugh about the riders who split past 1 or 2 cars to the front of the que. Surely it's easier (and safer) just to wait a couple of cars back from the front. You won't lose that much time waiting for them to get up to speed.
