I need your opinion on this bike purchase

    Heylo

I'm about to purchase a Suzuki GSX-R600 2007 (assuming K6/7) 12,000 Kms, really good condition, black in colour, seat and cowling, new tyres and recently got new WOF and rego.

Its a private sale. I was quoted $10,500. My offer was $9,500 wand seller counter offered with $10,000. I'm wondering if I should take it..

Wanted to get your opinion on this sale from a buyers point of view. Do you reckon its a good deal?

    Cheers
    Donny

I think 9.5k would be a fair price
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Why not go for the 10k. It's only 500 more, k's are relatively low...

As long as it does'nt need a chain (which means sprockets too) and it's had a fairly recent service. (check when the last major one was done/date not just kms I got caught out here.....)

These two things alone should help you negotiate the price you want. If they need doing and you can get that factored into the price it's actually good, because once you've had it done you know exactly how your bike really is.......your mechanic should let you know is he's worth his salt, and also you will know what has been done to the bike and when. (I always get new bikes serviced anyway/nothing like a mechanic looking over it for that piece of mind)

    $10k for a Suzuki .................. yeepers mate.

    But I jest.

It is a black one so probably worth more.

Pop on to Trademe and Motorcycle trader and compare prices for the same bike/year etc and you'll soon know if it is good value.

    Did motortrader for u.

    http://www.motorcycletrader.co.nz/Vi...007/35090.aspx

Only one listed between 06-08 year and $10500 from a dealer 15 on the clock. K7, micron can.

Might be worth phoning the dealer if you are within reach and making a offer .......... hard times and all that - there may be a grand in that price yet or some fancy gear.

You can have another 400cc plus my radar detector for that price if you're serious and have the coin available.

Check out my R1 on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=285976982

Word of advice - even with the 600 you should be seriously looking at spending the coin on a good radar detector.

For that price, I'd be looking the better quality jap 600's. CBR or R6 would be the go.

$9k flat would be the absolute tops any rational person would pay for that description.

@slofox - Congrats mate, have fun

@firefighter - Yea I will get it serviced straight after as well.

@AllanB - The 15 on the clock is in miles. Its actually 26 in kms

@NinjaNanna - Thanks for the offer, R1s are good bikes but not my first option, besides 2004 model doesnt have the slipper clutch

@PirateJafa - I've test ridden all four big jappos. After intense review scrutiny and hours of discussion, Suzuki came out on top. They have a very distinctive raw nature, which I like.

The seller and me have agreed at $9750.00
See you on the road sometime!!

    Excellent - enjoy the bike.
Having a preference for black bikes I highly recommend spending some $ on a high quality polish and wax. I've a preference for Meguiars products - but only for the bike, the cars get the cheaper shit!
