just found a guy selling one of these on trademe (at twice what the supplier asks!!! )

went to the site and it claims 6% immediate performance increase with up to another 6-9% after 5000km - to total of more than 10% just from a fuel catalyst.

Also better econonmy of about 15%+

Not a bad deal for $30+pp, could be an option for those of us with the higher spec 250's to get that little bit 'extra'

Personally I wouldnt bother, I thought they were aimed towards older models of car/bike... That were more reliant leaded gassoline? - Although maybe some benifits could be found in one (if you have the room!) I saw one in a car and it wasnt little... so maybe not such a good item for a bike? I dont know - I looked at it thought for a minute and then thought for 60$ ... Yea Right (tui)

yeh, like i said he wants double. The website has them for $30 in a bike model (with a ZXR250 as an advert). Im thinking not bad for $30. At least you'll be doing your thing for the environment and making sure ur under limit for emissions testing if we ever get them... once i pay frosty for track day im gonna order me one.

Yea if it will make me use less fuel and help deal with the smell then I will part with one for 30 smackers!

Would it be a problem for vacum fed carburators, and does it have a filter? i.e I can run
fuelFilter->fuelstart->carbs without much problem with the vacum fed carbs i.e making it run to lean or something?

im not 100% sure how it works, i just seen the website. Check it out and send them an email for more info. Far as i know you just chuck it in the fuel line... should be a prob

They're amazing, I don't know why Honda don't fit then as stock.

I eventually removed it as I got tired of the cbr250's front wheel lifting off the throttle in the first three gears.

So are they an overpriced fuel filter, there was a crap load of hype with them around 97? or 95? I was young cant remeber, due to the fuel changes causing problems, and this was suposed to help - they hype died and they seemed to disapear from the face of the earth, what they say it will do seems rather impossible for a filter ...

I bought so many of these types of devices that promised 25%, 30% or more etc in fuel savings that I was actually MAKING making fuel as I drove along, after 6 months I made 85 litres in fuel I DIDN'TY use???

I have a lot of experiance with BMC ''B'' blocks - 1500,1622 and 1800cc motors.In my A40 Devon Pick up,Series II Oxford and 2 Austin 1800s,plus all the countless ones I've worked on.They are the most ''ping'' prone motor I've ever worked on,tuning was really a matter of ''ear'' (can't do it now with my hearing) I tried to run one of my 1800s on 91 when it came out,but had to retard the timing so much I couldn't get up the drive,no way will these run on regular.

One of my customers has a Morris Marina station wagon,and he loves it (explained at a glance if you ever met him) ,it has the 1800cc ''B'' block,and a Fuelstar,or maybe another with a similar sounding name and claims.I tune this motor as I have always tuned them...and it runs on regular,for the 10yrs I've worked on it.He reckons it's because of the Fuelstar,and I almost have to believe him,because out of the 100s of these things I've tuned,it's the only one that doesn't rattle under load.Maybe it has 2 headgaskets,a special one off cyl head,I dunno - I'm puzzled by it...and somewhat annoyed.

Fuelstar is just a tube with a tin gauze in it - the same stuff that lines the Morry petrol tank.

We have Fuelstar's on some of our cars and it definately stops them pinging. Especially USA imports, had two that have taken an instant dislike to NZ fuel and have detonated quite badly and a Fuelstar has fixed the problem.

I wasn't a believer but it saves carting avgas around.
