The best tyre I've found for the GSX1400 that lasts a "reasonable" distance has been the Michelin Pilot Road 2. It gives good grip in wet and dry and handles the low down torque quite well coming out of corners.
Haven't been able to get any due to worldwide demand through my local supplier. Had to settle for a Pirelli Angel St rear while I wore out the front PR2 a couple of months back.
The Angel St is a great tyre. Awesome feedback, saved me from a serious highside on Highway 22 a month or so back as it gave and slid for enough time for me to get everything back together again but must admit, it was fair howling and gave off a lot of burning rubber but feedback was brilliant.
BUT.... as great a tye as it's been, it lasted 2400kms and was just past legal limits when I got her changed today. I have a full set of Angels at the mo as still no PR2's in the shop. The front PR2 lasted 5200kms and I usually get around 3500kms out of a rear Pilot Road 2 .
I think the Angels would be great on super sport but I think the torque and weight of the 14 hasn't helped longevity,
