    Caution: Misrepresenting trader.

Just a note to caution kbers if they're planning to buy damaged bikes online from this trademe trader.

There's nothing wrong with buying crash damaged vehicles, as long as they are correctly represented so you know what you are getting yourself into if you live too far away to view them in person.

It's very easy to 'forget' to add a few details in a listing which make the bike un-economical to repair, these bikes were written off by the insurance company for a good reason.

A case in point are these two current listings.
The zx10 has been written off and was bought from star insurance (which are a thoroughly honest crash bike outlet) as a damaged write off. This guy has bought this bike and is selling it as a stolen recovered, implying it has not been damaged before. As a registered motor trader i'm sure he has a duty to disclose this. A vir will confirm this.

The hyosung has a bent, split frame. no mention of this in the listing.

Just beware, this is not the first dodgy bike this guy has sold to some poor bugger that believed the 'very easy repair', 'damage as far as i can see' bullshit.

Just to add some weight to your claims, do you mind telling us who you are in relation to the trader and how you are so certain that what you claim is the case. I've got no reason to doubt you, but we've only read the claims with nothing to substantiate them. I wonder how any slander laws apply in this situation if your claims are incorrect.

There is an ongoing argument between that trademe guy and another trademe seller both of who sell cars and bike - we have been looking for a cosmetically damaged bike that we can use for engine and parts and have been entertained by the bitchy comments and arguing by this guy and another. Very childish but quite funny - from what I have read they both buy from auctions and bid against each other?
Don't know if the guy who started this thread has anything to do with it or not......

The guy denies that the Hobag frame is cracked. How can we find out?

yeah i had a lady report me for selling a baby cot and slander me in the qustions on my tm page. she stated the cot was a deathtrap, and was illegal to sell because it was breaking the laws required. I had posted all measurements etc, checked on the govt site to check its legality, and the cot was perfectly safe and legal. Turns out, she was a major private cot seller...........trademe pulled the cot purely because of her complaint, they never checked anything out. bitch, i wound up selling it at a garage sale, where noone even cared if it was legal!, maybe her and her mighty sword of righteous justice ought to swoop on garage sales.

Link her up, shouldn't be hard to fuck with her auctions... it'll keep me amused on this rainy afternoon at least.

aww shit was back in 2006, and coz i never sold it on tm, there is no record of her name or comments. really fuked me off tho.
just beware there are people out there like that.
so desperate to shut down a guy trying to sell one stinkin cot, while they are running a business selling 20 of em. i hate the legitamised traders on tm, most of them are selling crap, inferior items.
IRD should check that shit out, they prolly arent claiming it.

I can't remember but it got nasty with one of them saying what the other had actually paid at the auctions for damaged bikes. Just keep an eye out I am sure it will happen again

I think it is more a case of a non-mechanic person picking bikes up cheap and moving them on TM. I personally think they are going to get bitten. Maybe it will take a few wake up calls for them to get out of that game.

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
