He makes a big noise about caveat emptor... well, I got news for him. In New Zealand, if he knows that something is wrong with the bike, is asked if anything is wrong with the bike, and then doesn't disclose what he knows, then he's breaking the law, and will lose at the Disputes Tribunal every time.

I know what you are saying, and yes you are right, but I will say that Star Insurance are from what I have gathered a very straight up outfit who usually list a full inspection report that details all damage and approx cost of repairs. These guys have sold lots of bikes this way.

Don't know them from a bar of soap myself, I just briefly skimmed the trademe listing. So long as they're honest in their dealings, they'll always be sweet. It's the right thing by the customer, and serves to protect them too, win win

if a bike has bent forks, and one person says that usually means a tweaked frame, is this a good indicator for not buying a writeoff, even if its for track use only?. noob question!.

Bikes are cheap, why bother with a bent one? What's an old GSXR600 worth these days anyway? Good percentage of 10 year old bikes will have gone down at some stage, you'd have to treat it on a case by case basis. To bend a fork, whether it bends the frame or not, is putting a hell of a lot of stress all over the place, in ways it's not designed to handle... would you want to run around a track at 200km/h on something like that? Seems like a false economy to me, but then plenty do, so it's obviously not an instant death warrant.

This guy makes me cringe, a little careful camera work and 'forgetting' to mention stuff in the listing.
In photo 13, has the crash nob busted a lump out of the frame?

I've seen the bike and ridden it. PM me and I'll send you my phone number. Then I can tell you exactly why you should stay away from it. I also know how much that POS paid for it.
