I agree with the comment as to how our media in their desperation to sell advertising hypes the shit out of everything. The Police are on a hiding to nothing. Every time a FWit runs from the police the story is how they chased them. Focus on who the criminal is people. If the Fwit plows into a mother and baby then the knives are out - where were the police in this? Who was the lawbreaker?

I also agree that there are good police and most so competant police but I would far rather have a police force thats trying rather than a corrupt force.

I believe there are quotas. Set by politicions. That you vote for

Judging by KB motorcycling in this country hasn't a hope in hell of getting unified political clout. There are too many folks tearing each other apart to co-operate

Perhaps not, but I don't get let off as often as I used to

Over the years, I've had more infringement notices than I care to remember (only 1 unfair), but I can't say I've ever come across a nasty cop. I'm sure they exist, but I've alway's been treated fairly and with courtesy.

Once, I was aware of being set up to fail (offer bullshit), but chose the honest approach. To my surprise, I received some worthy advice and then sent on my way. I probably should've had my arse roasted for that one, riding a 750, pillion, 1.00-1.30am, speeding etc and all on a restricted licence.

The way I see it, the cops are still in credit!

This is one of the standard indicators of impending old age. "When the Policemen on the beat look young..."
You can tell that's a very old saying because it's many years since a cop walked anywhere.

You need to work on not growing old and grumpy. And it might pay to invest in a radar detector?

    Attitudes change, including mine.

Some twenty plus years ago as a young Serviceman I ripped past a B&W in Templeton, can't even remember the speed to be honest.

Guilt got the better of me so I stopped at the camp gates, took my helmet off and waited. A couple of minutes later said B&W Holden screeched to a halt right beside me, he launched himself out of the car and really went to town on me nutting (not talking) off like a man possessed about temporary citizen etc etc. after what seemed like a very long five minutes he got in his car did a ue and drove off. I stood there perplexed.

My point is - Today I would never go that fast, never not stop and perhaps suffer the consequence of my actions. What does concern me though is there are a number of Officers I know that get that 'Red Mist' call in a Pursuit and it is all on from there.. Recently one Officer has even called Comms (open source) 'spineless' for 'Abandoning Pursuits'.

So yeah its all about peoples attitudes.

Hey, you've got it pretty well summed up!

You forgot Honda riders are gay.

And people with radar-detectors only use them to make sure they ride safely and to keep their speed down.

I was invited out on a ride a little while back, but i knew a copper would be going on it. although supposedly off duty, i didn't fancy hanging around with the filth, and i said so.
The reply i got suprised me, "he's a good bloke, he does 150k's everywhere, it'll be fast blah blah". Everyone in the group concurred.
I couldn't believe it, only thing worse than a cop is a bent cop!
How come it's ok for him to rip around breaking the traffic laws?
    I thought that stank.
This country is a police state, make no mistake. This country is in fear of NZ's largest organised gang.

    Peace out.

Any I bet you believe that if he got caught then he would be exempt from the penalties the rest of us would suffer because 'his gang mates would get him off'

Filth?! What exactly do you do? Just wondering as to what wonderful things you give back to the community to have a horse this high......(seriously) It must be something pretty great.

Who said it's ok? He would'nt get off if he was caught, in fact he would be punished far worse than anyone he tickets for it......bent would be if he used his influence to get off the ticket.

Remember it's a job, he does'nt have to live, eat, sleep and shit being a police officer when off-duty. Good on him for letting go and enjoying his time off.
I take it you've never ever done anything which contradicts the rules you'd have to follow at your place of employment? (presuming you have a job)

Jesus. Yes it's all so damn rough. We have it so hard here in New Zealand!!!! We are such an oppressed nation! Waaaaaa, waaaaaaa!!!!!!

Move to China and you will learn all about a police state, our cops actually put up with a LOT of shit before they bite back. I'd love to see all those pieces of shit off 10-7 try the shit they put on with a 'merican cop. They'd get fucked up. You then see them having a big sooky bitch because the cop touched them. Why are kiwis so damn precious?

Sigh, yet another uneducated and un-travelled ignorant and obviously lower decile kiwi.

    Woah.

I'm one of those yet to have a positive experience with the Police. I rarely speed/break the law (always end up with a que of traffic behind me by sitting at 99), I'm just a young male with a motorcycle and a 'sporty' ninties car. Generalising that all cops are dicks is fair I think, considering they generalise all young males with potentially reasonably fast cars as speeding drunks.
In my experience, the police relentlessly seek revenue, and even when blatantly wrong (Court dismissal of fines etc.) They make sure you know that they are letting you off for an unrelated technical issue. Not that they are wrong.
I've never been directly helped by the Police. But I do appreciate some of the work they do for other people, and hope one day maybe they'll be there when I need help.

Average KB response, its the average for a reason no?
