GN250: How many km in a full tank? (for you)

Hi All,
still getting the feel for how much I can get out of a tank of gas. However, I'm too scared and simply fill her up when i think its time. Every time I fill up it seems to have about 12 bux room and the trip odometer will read about 150km.

So, how many k's do you get out of your GN250 on a full tank?

You should get 200 easy peasy before reserve, more likely 220. Best I ask what sort of riding you do.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? about 20 years ago I had a gn250, I rode it till it coughed, then flicked the reserve tag. Had about 50km left after that........ They should do like 100km to the litre lol.....

Yup, thats about right. Dont get scared to take it all the way to reserve, just make sure once you hit reserve that you make for the nearest station

Next time look at the litres you're putting in instead of the $$$, then you'll know how much you havent used! (8L tank + 2L reserve)

Yeh I agree with all posts thus far , just get brave set your trip odo and when you start running low do laps around the petrol station until reserve then clock off at that and bingo!!!! (dont worry as mentioned youve got 50k reserve so be confident in your mighty steed!!!) I havent clocked mine yet, just so happen to have set up for what I advised this arvo, will re post when my results are in

The amount of milage (km per L of fuel) you get from a tank depends on how hard you use the throttle, and to more of an extent, how consistent that throttle usage is each time you use the bike. Furthermore "12 bux" is relative to the fuel price at the time, $20 used to be gas to get nearly 220km in my mates car, you'd be lucky to get 120km out of $20 worth of gas in the same car these days.

QFT , about 10 years ago with my 1st turbo car I was whinging about $35 only getting a little over 200k. Now I'm chuffed that $35 gets me a little over 200k on my nsr

Dont have a GN...... but going like a nana and going by my own speed limit law is a difference of around 80-100km on a tank for me

I can't remember how big the tank was on my old GN, but I used to average 80-90 MPG out of it.

Whilst I don't have a GN, I do have a Kawasaki EL250 with a 10L petrol tank and with a full tank I get about 180-190kms, depending on my riding style!

Im at114 k`s so far and still going, I must say though I have not been very conservative with the throttle On this tank lol Ive had some fine weather and just havent been able to resist the wide open lonely back rodes whilst others were at work... will let you know when done with this tank how many k`s I got out of it, maybe tomorrow on the way home from the mt wellington buckets!

170ks to my tank this trip, like I said though was not being concervative...

when you fill it up take a note of the distance travelled and the litres it took to fill it. Divide kms by litres and you have your kilometers per litre. Knowing the capacity of your tank you can work out your range. Use the trip meter at each fill and use this as a fuel guage, at a quick glance you'll always know how far you can get on the gas you have remaining. Easy.
