Red face Back on 2 wheels!

Well, I'm stoked. It's been 15 years since I owned a wee dirtbike for fun.

3 years ago, I swore I'd NEVER get on a bike again, certainly not a road bike!

3 months ago that changed, I missed motorcycling so much I decided to fight my fears and buy a Ninja. ( I think I already know what my trade up is!!)

Today I went on the first part of a basic handling skills course, on a Scorpio 225, kindly loaned by Bayride!
Initially feeling really nervous - and stiff, after a few clutch misshaps I pootled off, learn't how to ride slow for a few circuits standing up, loading the back break (penalty for riding too fast - whoops )
    Counter steering
Precision Braking, nearly bowled the instructor, and accidently wheel stood the Scorp!!

I had a knee out, but I'm supposed to learn to keep my knees in whilst cornering.

I wanted to start again, from scratch, learn good habits and technique, before heading to Track Days on Black Betty! (Where there'll be a whole new bunch of stuff to learn - no doubt!)

    Next class next week!!

What an amazing feeling to conquer another fear, what a freaken sweaty mess after! LOL!

Achievement is not always success while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

Don't know if they're to rest, but I believe the only way to move in a forward motion is to push the boundaries, and alleviate.

Really please for ya. It's a great feeling being back on a bike after a long break isn't? It took me about the same time, 15 years, I'm loving it.

    Enjoy
