Awesome bike dude! If I could afford one I'd get it but I'd never sell my one, that old skool, hardcore attitude can't be beat!
I've only ever seen one of the 2nd gen models on the street, Yam don't seem to promote them or have them in the shops. And yet you see a Rocket 3 on every street corner. You would think Yam would have a V-Max day and invite all us owners along for a test ride, BBQ, brolly dollies etc

Glad you like it, so go and enjoy. Not for me though, that piddly little fuel tank and small range wouln't even get me home from Dunedin via the Pig Root or Middlemarch, and there are no fuel stations open after 7:00 pm.

On that subject, any idea if the Palmerston garage is these days open later than 5?Been caught out before on the way home, ended up running out a km from Maheno.

No, I've no idea really. I know that they aren't open at 9:00 pm, so I assumed that like most country stations they close at 7:00. I fill up in Dunedin and that gets me home with some to spare.

Awhile back i didnt bother filling up in Ranfurly thinking i would do it in Palmerston only to find it shut,TLs are a tad thirsty and with the light on i set off for Oamaru to fall short annoyingly.

I was there a week ago at 7 in the evening (friday night) and they were still open ... The shop at Dunback has a pump ... I have knocked on their door to get gas in the past. With success I might add ...
