I give up: parts in NZ!

Ok I know I'm supposed to buy from NZ, as alot of people have a gripe with getting items from overseas. Thing is this little country does its best to piss me off when it comes to getting a part that you'd think is a pretty consumable item.
All I want is 2 'rivet links' for my (very common) 520 RK chain on my racebike, I've gone up 2 teeth on the back sprocket and now the chain is on the short side...................easy fix, go to local and order a couple...........WRONG!!!!!

Local says no worries, go in next day.......have 1 there but suppliers are unpacking an order come back tomorrow, ok sweet as, give them a few days over the weekend and go back.........sorry theres none in the country, thinking the piss was being taken I joked, but no there isn't any here.

Cmon...............a bloody common chain size for a sports bike and ya can't join the fuking thing together with the right link............I even tracked down an elusive chain riveter( a job in itself ) to do the job properly........am at a loss for words really, if it were an exotic part I could understand it, but its not.

Is it any wonder more people are buying from offshore..............

Try this... I want to demo a KTM 990 Supermoto... I have spoken to 4 dealers, 3 in Auckland, 1 in Hamilton... 3 weeks later, no-one has anything yet...

Hamilton is the best so far... may have the older 950 shortly... you would think for a bike sale they would kinda sort something?

It aint your power delivery bro, it's a lack of dirt tyres for the wrong side of the ripple strip.

I understand your frustration mate, it's so much easier to not waste your time and order it yourself online- hell I haven't found an easy to use nz site yet for a lot of the things iv'e looked for, there's a couple which are reasonably ok but just don't quite give you the info you need or pics of what your buying etc....

Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

An ECU for a 98 fireblade? Oh yes, that will be $1200 and 6 weeks wait. HA! (400 from USA, weeks wait)

Starter motor for your chippers broke and you cant get a kit for it. Thats $700 please. (180 from USA, and you can get a kit for 60 and it wasnt broken at all)

Chainsaw broke? replacement saw is 1600. (450 from US)

Yeah I love NZ dealer prices at times.

KTM RC8 1190 full system titanium akrapovic... retail price: NZ$8500....

You don't even get angry at that price, you laugh... no-one could be in their right mind to pay that much for an underbody exhaust, I mean come on, headers, and you don't even need a flippin mid pipe. I even tell dealers I am not buying exhausts from them for the supermoto (NZ$4500 for the top of the line full system) simply because of the price.

By paying those prices I believe you are just encouraging them to continue marking them up that much or making them that expensive.

XSO will not be strong enough for your bike, GXW is made for high powered sports bikes, xso is really a smaller bike or off road bike chain,

give me a pm, ill see what i can do tomorrow, i will see if i can get another brand that is the same size and strenth,

Suzuki NZ are out of stock of GN250 ring sets. How can any business allow their stock to run out for a model that has been around for 25 years?
