Police seek driver after Christchurch crash

One person is dead following a crash on Springs Road and Marshs Road, in Halswell.

Police say the crash involved a motorbike and a car.

Inspector Paul Fremaux, of southern police communications, said the car had left the scene after the accident and the police wanted to track it down and interview the driver.

There were few other details about the accident which happened around 7.15am.

"A vehicle left the scene and we are interested in locating that and identifying and interviewing the driver,'' said Fremaux.

Any witnesses to the accident should contact police on 03 363 7400.

The AA said Springs Road was closed and diversions were in place.

Oh fuck. Here we go again...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Fucken Hell. It's just to easy to 'do a runner' isn't it? What has happened to common decency and personal responsibility! I myself have been very lucky over the past few months where I have been hit by a car at least twice and they have just left the scene without a thought.
I hope they catch the fucktard that did this!

Well no one here knows the facts yet, we don't even know if the two vehicles collided or anything. So lets not get to hot under the collar until at least same basic facts are out. I will say however, if the driver did knowingly leave the scene then I hope they get tracked down and face the consequences.

Drunk driving homo did that to my wife last night after writing off the car she was sitting at the lights in.

He must've felt guilty though, he walked a couple of kms back to the crash site, and a witness fingered him... he's doing the runner (again ffs!) and the cop takes up chase in the car, takes him about a minute to catch him. Blew 585 on the evidential... careless driving, over the limit, failing to stop and ascertain injury... going dooooown. What a knob though, returning to the scene of the crime... the whole story is even funnier, but I'm too lazy to relate it.

    Problem is he will only get;
    12 months loss of licence,
    20hrs community service,
    $300 fine, of which
he will continue to drive, not pay fine then get it written off due to too many fines and never turn up for comm service.

Hope your wife is ok though.

True, but I am still allowed to vent my anger at the retards that hit me but left the scene. Right?!

Bit of whiplash but she'll survive. She's going to the states on Saturday so she'd be pissed off if she was properly hurt. Shame it wasn't the MR2, I'd get a van for the minimotos to replace it

'The car' implies it was THE car involved in the (fatal) accident. Given that THE CAR drove off the fatality is that of the motorcyclist

Some people really can't help showing off their stupidity, can they? Do you realise that two vehicles can be involved in an 'accident' without the two vehicles colliding? Now it's quite possible that the driver of the other vehicle 'didn't even see the motorcycle when he forced it off the road into a ditch'. For all we know, this could be the scenario, or the driver may have been hellbent on killing a motorcyclist to start his day off, or anywhere in the spectrum in between, the point is we don't know yet.

Fuck I'm still shaking my head at the stupidity of your post.

I, like it would appear most others, got my info from the first post, you know, the one you quoted. I've read it a few times now, but still see no reference to the hit and run aspect. Seeing as you were using the first post in your quote could you please point out to me where it mentions this.
