North Shore Biker Cops

My friend told me that this morning that on his way over the Harbour Bridge, he saw a motorbike cop on the side of the motorway ticketing a bike not once, but three times.

He said that after the last cop, the cop had some radar gun (whatever the heck its called) and was tracking the speed of bikes that were lane splitting.

Anyone know what these motorcyclists could have done wrong? Is there a speed limit to lane splitting?

EDIT: All 3 occurred before he went over the bridge. Can hardly imagine someone being pulled over on the bridge itself ...

"Doing it wrong"

The cops might have been checking relative speed of the bike to traffic and making a judgement call on whether or not it was safe at given the conditions and traffic flow. It's rather hard to maintain any sort of beneficial speed difference over traffic without going outside of the law with regards to lane splitting - it's nigh on impossible to stay to the right of traffic while remaining in the lane.

they happened to try to get to work when this idiot needed to make his daily quota...

(BTW i used to live on shore and work in a city so was subjected to this kind of police abuse quite often...)

Presumably a laser. However I have seen the bikie cops using a much smaller unit that fits into a pannier box.

94km/h on a motorway you must be mad! Lucky they got you otherwise who knows what could have happened....safety first you know just like the nice TV ad says.

I was slow learner, i hoped for exception to the rule ...but now i finaly learned all cops are bunch of low life scum that suffer from small dick syndrome probably because they werent breast fed as babies or something.. so i try to avoid them now.

Its blanket statements like this that makes you look stupid. have you dealt with all the cops? (I dont think so)
all cops are not scum
all cops are not great guys/gals
its the percentage that's arguable

that being said there does seem to be a few who deal with motorway traffic on the northshore/bridge who could do with an attitude adjustment. I have yet to be ticketed by them but have had a verbal (with my helmet on) which they got frustrated and took off without issuing a ticket

Yeah sure i can believe there are "nice" cops out there somewhere...once you find them let me know and i will happily retract my statement and appologise to him/her/them.
