Have a good time guys, I was there on thursday and the sand is well packed and easy to ride on....I'm not volunteering to come tho, a burst of incompetence sees me with a screwed left knee!

So what were you doing when you screwed your knee?

    Trying to ride the 200?

I was playing with the suspension and trying it out on a series of sand whoops when I miss timed one of them, bike went vertical, I went upside down then the bike came back down..vertically.

Much whinging and cursing ensued and so far I'm still hobbling around, judging from past experience this will take a week or so to heal up.

Good day on the trails today! That route there was awesome too! Never realised there's paper roads that close to Auckland.

Sand was nicely packed from all the rain, and we managed to ride right in between the downpours... Until it opened up when I hit the southern motorway.

Here's a bit of a tame vid from the start of the day - we went on to do amazing things after this, such as sheer drop offs, vertical ascents, 20 meter airs, and crossing the sahara in an hour flat. However you'll have to take my word for it, as my helmet cam ran out of batteries...

Great vid, maybe I should have gone a bit slower so you could keep me in frame a bit more. Was damn good fun anyway.
Shame the batteries ran out you got a fair bit quicker on the other trails (after all that was just a warm up loop)

You said about going out next monday, but the sandpit is only open Wed-Sun.

Can you change the angle of your camera a bit? Seems to be looking down a fair bit, would be better to see a bit further ahead.

Shame there was not footage of running along that back fence through the water holes, that would have looked quite cool I reckon.

Yeah, sorry, our dramatic authentic adv riding splashes weren't captured I'm afraid... Next time!

And was going to change the angle prior to heading out on Sunday morning, but breakfast was too good, then suddenly I was running late... Also need to chuck in a bit of padding in to get rid of that sharp plastic-on-plastic rubbing noise every time I hit a bump.

Will definately be heading back out here, thinking maybe 26/27th, or maybe doing that trail ride that is on that weekend.
