Yeah as Scott said, 100 mile for 4 laps. (160km). You refill at the end of every lap so not to worry.

I'll be there, entry sent and accommodation sorted too. They're limiting numbers to 300 this year so get in quick.

How long was each lap and many laps did you and Cheese do last time Rupe??
Never done it mate. I don't think many get more than 3 laps in as once the leader has finished they close the race. If i'm told correct.

i think youve got 30mins after the leader has finished to cross the finish line to start your last lap, if that makes sence.

on another note does anyone need a pitbitch??

that is incorrect, in the past once the leader had finished it is over, you have about 5 minutes to get out of the pits if you had crossed the line before the leader,

last time i did it it took me just over 4 and a quarter hours to finsih it, normally about 50-80 riders do 4 laps,

Next year I'm in. If you are going to do it, work hard on fitness now. Its a killer!!!!!! I've only managed 2 laps, the first year I could have done a 3rd, but I was fucking knackered and I thought my clutch was slipping, but it was the surface (its really weird shit to ride on). The second year they called the race early as it was too wet and too may cheating cunts.

again on that, rick- you wouldnt get a 4th lap, i did it 2007 and 2008, - 2007 i just missed out on lap 4, and 2008 there wasnt a lap 4, but there was about 120 cheats who cut out most of the track on their 3rd lap. lazy bastards who wouldnt carry their bikes up a hill!

    yep I googled cheese's result for 07 I think?
He did 2 laps in about 3 1/2 hours. He's a lot younger than me and probably a little better ability so that would be my lot for sure!
Maybe I'll just aim at finishing the mega vets, I've omly been riding 3 years so best not get to big for my boots LOL!!.
You seem to have it nailed B000M I think your 100% correct in your assessment.

Holly shit I'm talking like I'm going already?? Better stop that I shoulda grown out of pipe dreams LOL!!!

I looked at it then ran and hid under the bed........

I'm a similar age to you and know I can ride at race pace for an hour and I can stretch that to two hours with some more fitness but 3 to 4 hours? Someone take a camera!

    every 2 times?

lol, on lap 3, it was fucken pissing down, it was like trying to ride up a waterfall made of pumice, and every time a bike attempted to go up, it would chew out the hill so that no other bike could take that line. unfortunately there were only so many lines to be taken on that hill, so that meant a lot of pushing, pulling and dragging if you wanted to get up there. alternatively you could turn back bugger all, head along the train tracks, and then straight over the finish line. because cheating is evidently the way get good results!

and yes im still sour about it. but im still keen to go back for more- though i dont think finance will allow this year

Well the lake house is free and I've penciled it in! Sleeps 10 in beds and as many as you like with airbeds. Also enough room for the bikes and trailers 30ish mins from the venue!
Be a good place to have a piss up Sat night (if I'm awake) and depending on how many go prob only $30 a night or less!

Rupe you started this (and I'm getting cold feet know) are you going?? C'mon Crisis!

Is this going to be one of our Great KB trips!!!!

BTW: You Wellingtonions can finally join us too!!!
