I know this will be wasted on a lot of you as i know your opinion of police is so low becuase you look at your own lives though rose coloured glasses.

If the only work the police had to do was to write out tickets this would truely be a wonderful county in which to live, unfortunately this is not the case.
So its not all about writing tickets?

    Boristhebiter bites again.

Seriously easier to rark you up than a 5 year old. Although argueing with a 5 year old is just as pointless.

    Continue.

I dont hate cops but I do beleive in a fair go, and common senses, but once you have treated like shit a few times by uniformed bullies, and get tickets for bugger all it starts to piss me off, and now I have the attiude that I wont take any shit from cops, I didnt start my attitude, the cops did!

I was going to add..."May the Force be with you"...but there would appear to be no need...as it so obviously is, and seemingly frequently.

    Hi there,

I created the video (I'm not a cop) but I sure do appreciate the work the average General Duties (they are not the Traffic cops) does... day in day out...

I too like many on here have dealt with wankers... and can tell stories of useless ones:

Eg. One time my old lady had a stranger on her property late at night in Aranui, Chch, the cop told her to go outside and take a photo?!?!? They sent a security guard around 2 hours later....

Another time my gf's 5 year old brother (doesnt speak english) was lost (xmas at the park) and a cop ignored him... however another cop put him on his shoulders and helped us find him...

Then again on the flipside I remember being picked up by cops from school and mother escorted away from a violent drug addict bf...

Everyone despises traffic cops, but they are doing a job they are paid to do... just like parking wardens... The public would be surprised the number of times traffic stops result in arrrests for serious offending (drugs, theft, etc.). Unlike GDB they very rarely have stab proof vests on, yet many are confronted daily with violence or threats of violence.

Like I said at the top there are some shit cops, and I defnitely do not deny there has been some corruption and bad buggers (clint rickards etc.)... however it is impossible to prevent this as our cops can only be human and reflective of our society... Cops are humans, there are bad ones, middle of the range ones, and good ones. Some join for power, the image etc. The majority join to make a difference (many as you can imagine get tired down dealing with the crap and cross the line)..

I have worked alongside cops and seen how they get treated and what they have to do (no overtime pay, going to court to testify and being called a liar by a paid liar (lawyer) on their days off) and I received roughly the same salary for no risk or sacrifice..

The two books that I think are being referred to are Cover ups & cop outs by Tom Lewis and Colour of Right by Trevor Martin... I have both books and have read quite a few times...

If anything they are reminder to stay the course. With the emergence of Organised Crime and big time Meth problem you will see a rise in Police Corruption in NZ soon unfortunately, as with other government departments.... this is what happens when Government does nothing to effectively stamp it out..

I make the videos on youtube to give acknowledgement and a kia kaha message to those 95% of cops who stay the course and do what is right in the face of all their adversities internal and external.. because lets face it they dont get a hell of a lot of good publicity, commendation, or coverage for the good they do everyday, putting their lives at risk..

Funnily enough, while I am highly annoyed still after being treated shabbily by them, I do believe they are needed on our roads, without them it would be a bloody mess.
I used to have the greatest respect for them, and I still understand they have to put up with a fair bit of nonsense, but when you get stopped and treated like shit at checkpoints, receive tickets that are bordering on legalized theft, that respect goes out the window, and I’m afraid I’m angry enough, that if I ever see I cop in trouble, I will walk the other way.

Hey, ok lets say i more or less agree with what you said in your post, but what are we going to do about that 5% of rotten fuckwit cops that are ruining the police image, give nonsense tickets out of spite, spend all day trolling on KB instead of doing "safer communities together" thing?
