What the F*!# is up with MNZ! they rake in thousands a year from 'sanctioned' events and clubs run by enthusiasts...

This guy came 6th last year! bloody hell, no one could sponsor the chap a bike, his ticket and a few grocery vouchers to buy some chops and eggs.
    Campings free there too.

    Piss poor yamaha and MNZ

They probably spend all their money on road bike bullshit... I'm seeing more and more places not using MNZ! Can someone explain to me what they actually do other than take money and give out rubbish booklets?

MNZ is far from perfect and some decisions piss me off as well, and sometimes i wonder why i defend them, but the road racers get no more money than the mx riders do, i do not see why it is MNZ's place to pay for riders to go overseas to compete in professional events, there is alot of people that compete overseas, if you send Rory on MNZ, would you not really have to send Jason Davis as well wouldn't you as he is beating him in the NZ enduros, and what about the 3rd place guy, surely he deserves to go to, i think if there is any money for enduro it should go to a ISDE team first, as that is the premier world enduro.

i know Rory, and i am gutted he could not complete the world extreme enduro champs like he planned this year, but it would have to be one of the tightest times in memory ato try and get sponsorship dollers, esp for an event that does not get much mainstream publicity in NZ,

If it was who would decide between all the different sports (speedway, mx, sx, cross country, enduro, trials, atv road race, supermotard etc) who would get the money, because the list is long, and the money pile is short,

if you want to know where the money goes, read the finanical report, it gets sent to all the members of MNZ,

MNZ does the dirty work, do you know OSH is seriously looking at shutting down or regualting hte fuck out of trail rides due to the number of accidents, MNZ is trying to sort this out and i have worked with the trail ride comissioner to help out,

i have said this before, $125 for a natioanl liceince is the cheapest in all of motorsport, a speedway NZ liceince is $160 for one class, and extra $30 if you want to drive another sort of car, a Kartsport liceince is over $200,

i know as an event organiser i prefer to run under MNZ, as when stuff goes bad there is a lot of back up for you, i run the funday MX under my own insurance as if i ran it under MNZ everyone would need a MNZ licience and it would cut the numbers back and get away from what i am trying to do with it,

(i won't get into the fact i can send 1000 people over 10000 acres all at once, but i send them around a track in a flat paddock and split them up into abiltiy, then they then need a licience)

Well said Scott. What ACC were wanting to do to trail rides would have been a massive hit, at least theres someone being proactive and sounds like a great step in the right direction.

Rory needs to get Monster or Rockstar since all the other events are Red Bull ones, see Monster are moving into MotoGP.

Yes' must say fair enough Scott, a knee jerk reaction from me.

I dare say (with tounge in cheek) that after all the competiton wins Rory has given Yamaha, they would have been able to sort him out a bike at least, and
a few grand to get him there would not have been too much of a slice from the pie (1/4th the cost of one new YZF).

With the extreme enduro events probably drawing the most attention to the sport overall (in the endurance scene anyway) it would have been a prudent
marketing move by Yammy' which would encourage more kiwis to take up the sport seriously.
