Time to go for your next level licence - price going up!

If you've been thinking about getting your next class of licence, it might pay to book now as licence costs are going up from July 1st.

Full details on NZ Transport Agency website here but in brief...

Learners going up from $79.00 to $91.90
Restricted going up from $88.20 to $105.80
Full going up from $115.10 to $133.20

Yeah, not a big deal more, but if you were thinking of booking soon anyway, might as well save yourself a little coin for some more gas.

I booked all my tests over the phone and paid in advance with my credit card - you will have to go in to the AA and do your i.d stuff and photos though.

I found it easier this way, because I kept putting it off - once I had set a date and paid for it, I knew I had to go to the AA before that date to do the photos etc.

you can book online and pay like a month or more in advance.

but what the hell. i thought they were going to get people to move up the ladder instead of sticking on a certain class, not put them off more..

You know what, I just remembered that when I booked my restricted test they said I can change the date at anytime, and I believe it was for free. It would only cost if I wanted to change within 3 days of the actual test. So could book for a long time off and move it nearer if you want/need. Hmmm, might go do that myself.
