No offence Kenny but bring the XT. This sort of stuff would be most fun on an enduro bike if not for the ride down and back.

I don't think it is possible to offend that man.

well I,ve been riding my newly bought xt 600 tenere(87) ...peril,s old bike and I must admit it has a bit more ooomph than my xt600e....23litre tank and longer suspenders but sadly kickstart only. As we might be doing rivers and steep hills I ll stick with my one.....bloody nice ride the tenere and once I do the headgasket it will be a shame to sell it...maybe....

Don't know what you are worried about. That bike has never been a problem to kick start

I've just made the last call to landowners etc and we are all good to go for the 11/12th of December. Still plan on starting at 10 am on Saturday in Waimate. I'll probably be riding down from Chch on the Sat morning (leave at 0715).

I'd suggest that we stay at the Ranfurly Holiday Park in the Cabins. Works out at about $20 per person with cabins able to sleep from 2 to 8. Info here. I'd suggest we grab the two room 8 person cabin (5 of us so far) and put all the snorers in one room. What say you fellas?

    Cheers R

    Thumbs up

Sounds good, I note that linen is included so no need to carry a sleeping bag
FYI, Ryan we didn't manage to get over Walking Spur/Boundary Creek etc last weekend as it was pissing down, just went over Omarama Saddle and the river crossings were knarley as, very deep and swift!

I read .... Linen and towels are not supplied but can be hired for an additional charge.

I'll BYO sleeping bag and normally carry a camp towel in my topbox anyway... although I guess it wouldn't cost that much extra to hire the linen.

I'm counting 6 of us now.
