Question Pushchair trolly. How to steer ideas please.

Got this old push chair, & trying to make a trolly out of it for the kids.
    The main problem is steering.
Who can come up with a good way of linking these wheels and making them steer on the cheap??
    Cheers.

Lock them in place, cut it in half and make two bikes out of it?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    Remove wheels from existing mounts.

Bolt length of steel strap between existing mount points (ie make front beam axle)

Bolt wheels fixed, not swivelling, to another steel strap.

Drill clearance hole in centre of first steel strap. Drill ditto hole in centre of second (wheel bearing) strap.

Mount wheel bearing strap under fixed beam axle strap by running fit bolt through two holes.

Tie bit of rope to each corner of wheel bearing strap. Pull to steer. The wheel bearing axle will swivel on the fixed axle

The brown marks will need to be at the bottom where the turning is required.

Thanks for that. I thought it may need a whole redo of the front end as you suggested. Might as well just rip the wheels off and add to the old planks of wood me thinks.

you could always turn it around and have rear wheel steering, and utilise differential braking on the (now) front fixed wheels. that'd be fun to watch !

i got a set of 4 wheely bin wheels if you want them .
they brand new had them for years but never used them for a cart.
    yours if you want them.
you'll just need to get 2 lentghs of rod to put the wheels on.
they have a little pin inside the wheel and in clips into a groove on the rod.
    and that locks them on.
i think sensei is works in the engineering trade ( not sure)
he might be able to cut a groove in the rod .
any way yours if you want em for your kids.

I'd be surprised if those tiny wheels with plastic hubs would last five minutes. I'd go for something a bit stronger. The wheelie bin wheel offer might be better.

Ever notice that anyone slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?

Time to start looking on the net for wooden trolly designs I think.
