    now THAT'S more like it...

well, more like a 2005 super sports machine should look like:

I have never worked out why such a sleek machine is designed and then they just seem to tag on as an afterthought: silly shrek-ears for posing as indicators; even sillier side reflectors and a plastic spade on the back to hang your licence plate on. Ne'er mind, has been dealt to, 'cept for the shrek-ears on the back, but that's in the works.....

Damn, how squidly is this post?

Tha Jandal: Adding another dimension to "rubber side down"

Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"

    It's really, really, really good.

    Buy one.

    That should do it.

fook, where IS that squid emoticon??

    Hmmm:
    smoother gear box
    slipper clutch
smoother power delivery (only from Mt Eden's demo, still trying to keep mine under 8000rpm )
flat seat = goodbye nut crusher
and these are only the impressions from the first week, running in. I've already teased myself with a coupla glimpses of the shift light and can't wait to give it a proper twist.

And from the demo: midrange seemed quite fat, pulled harder than a $20 whore.

Of course, this is all relative to having spent the last 20000kms/18 months on a 2003 (ZX636B1). Overall, a refined evolution of our 03's.

Really? I read in a review that the '05 636 was lacking in mid range torque?

well these might help: (thanks Feint)

And to on a bit, the metallic red is quite cool in sunlight, then changes under varying light conditions. That was my biggest decision too.

    oh yeah:
suspension is hella more compliant. I actually enjoy the benefit of some spring compression now. Maybe it's the pies though....
Even the stock BT-014s are quite good, although I'll probably go back to the trusty Pirellis on next tyre change.

Good enough for ya? When you signing up, huh, huh? I do remember they had their green demo on for $13,995 a couple weeks back.

[Although maybe I ought to be dissuading you, from a red one at least. So we can avoid the Arnie/De Vito "Twins" thing again. I hated being Danny - main reason I had to change ]

Cheeoice one Nhuan! You were the first to buy the '03 model on KB to my recollection, must have made quite an impression for you to remain loyal to the Kwaka 600!

Yeah the Green one is sold taken today.
I will be signing up mid june at this stage.
Prolly be going green I think as its so kwaka and distinctive, kinda like riding the pride of Kwaka kinda thing. Will have to get new gear though cant see red and green going well together very well, hey we gotta look good right !!

Tell me what is your opinion of the steering stability, seemed light when I rode one a few months ago, whats your opinion

quaz, stick to the 03!!!!!! I still reckon the 05's soft.. yeah, softer power delivery, softer shocks, softer seat, softer looks - it's bloody soft!!!!! Feint and I swapped last weekend and I gave his some welly.. yeah, it's more tame and wotnot and I gave it a bit of a ringin (ssshhhhh don't tell Feint), and it just didn't feel as quick. His has some k's on now, so it's breakin in nicely, but still.. Feint got off mine, and said wow. First thing he said. Off the same bike as he has.
I want a beast to ride, not some toffy bike.. still a kwaka, and a 636, and my bike is the decendant of mine etc etc. Not bagin the bike as such, I'm just not convinced really. I want mine and a broken in 05 on the track and I ride both, then that might convince me. But until then, I'm sure it'll be taggin on the back of mine, not the other way round as the figures seem to show.. Sorry Nhuan, nice bike n all, and we definately had a blast on that last ride, but it's just me.. I can't say for everyone, cos you've come from an 03 and moved onto that bike, so it must flick your switches..

    k, slag away at me

Edit: - k, Quaz, you posted at the same time I was typing. One thing I will give the 05 is the turn-in seems to be a lot lighter. The lower seat position makes that easier still. The 03/04 bikes always feel high, where as the 05s are lower. I'll give it that. If I could get my engine (and that growl the 05 has lost) into that frame, it could be a winner.. and my shocks etc
