    Struggling with suspension setup!

hey guys, ive been really struggling lately with my suspension setup.

Ive got a 99 cr125 and cant get the suspension setup right. Whenever i ride out at the sandpit, everytime i turn into a corner the front wheel just washes out. Even riding up the gravel road to get to the tracks, my bike is just sliding all over the place.

I took the bike out today just to a field in albany industrial for a bit of a quick ride. The field was wet but not muddy. I just couldnt get any traction and even when i got up some speed i couldnt even turn or direct the bike cos it wanted to just drop from below me.

Ive gone through and tried lots of different settings, but it just seems to go from bad to worse.

    Any thoughts??

    Cheers!
My tyres are getting abit worn, but not terribly bad at the moment.

Put all the clickers back to factory standard.

Sounds silly but is there much oil in them? I'd probably put some fresh oil in and give the insides a good clean/flush, always makes em feel better.

And make sure you are forward on the bike when entering a corner!
    Broken bikes wanted, pm details

I'd be looking firstly at the tyre pressure. 10-12 psi for The Sandpit (actually thats what we run for most rides). Have a play with suspension after that. Some of our bikes have average tyres so they don't have a huge impact in the sand.

Im currently running 10 - 12psi for the sandpit and have reset all suspension settings to stock. Cant for the life of me work out why it feels like im riding drunk on ice. I know ive missed something somewhere.

I havnt tackled the fork oil cos i had a read about it and didnt really think i had the skills to pull my forks apart. ( read : put them back together ).

    Maybe thats my biggest problem

id say at a guess your tyres are letting you down more than you think they are.

i used to own a 99 CR125, and handling wise they arent significantly different to the newer models, so its not age itself causing the issues.

suspension plays a part in the traction, but even suspension totally up the shit wont completely destroy your handling on smoothish ground.

what make and model are the tyres?

Ill have a look first thing in the morning and see what tyres are on it.

It could possibly be the root of all my problems.
