    Hornet 900 reserve tank

At the risk of sounding like an idiot....
Does the hornet 900 (2005 model) have a reserve switch?
If so, where the smeg is it?
A pirate map with a big "X" would help....

Yep, when light comes on it's time to fill up.
Can get 30km easy with the light showing.

From my experience ..... There is approx 4 litres left when the light comes on. I get between 16-18kms/litre so chances you would get further than 30k's. Never been brave enough to try!
But my lowest consumption of 16km/litre gives a range of 304 km and my upper consumption ~ 18.1km/l range = 344km

I heard about 60km was the figure thrown round for the amount of distance you have to travel while on reserve. Easily got 300km on my Hornet.

I get 50ks on the light regularly.
My commute is exactly that , and if the light comes on when I'm leaving and it's pissing down, I'm quite confident to wait for the ride back before filling up.
