Me and my wife got refused entry to a bar in Hamilton Main Street because we were too old and we didnt have student ID. Use to frequent it reasonably often but won't spend a cent there now and tell everyone likewise.
I thought age discrimination was against the law!!

I thought a private business had the right to refuse to serve anyone they dont want to. Feel free to correct me if Im wrong.
A guy I used to work with used to knock people back for having their shoelace undone or shirt untucked... aaaand, most of the time, it was pretty much for his own amusement... door people are a funny breed...

Not if the refusal is based on reasons prohibited under the Human Rights Act (f'instance, how about "We don't serve Maoris " ? ) ?
