Yep, i had seen this in February on Carys Ride.

Just means that we will have to go there and back at low tide from the Kawhia end of the beach.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

after the boom and now bust of house purchases at Aotea, Kawhia and Raglan a couple of years ago, I doubt whether there will be a demand for $250000 sections out there any time soon. we have been looking at beach houses at Raglan, and have come to the conclusion they are almost all overpriced rundown shit boxes. Kawhia and Aotea is the same - but further away (90kms from my place to Kawhia). It is actually cheaper at the Mount at the moment! (and same distance/a better road/hotter chicks).

They can't stop you riding on the beach, and I doubt whether access everywhere is restricted. If not Aotea, certainly Ruapuke was easy access when I was there 4 weeks ago - we took a couple of 4 wheelers through the creek track access. Well I didn't, I landed on the beach - some mates took the bikes.

yeah there are some over priced shiters alright. most of the sections are cut up ready for sale on mautuktea/sulby Drive(aotea) a few flash houses gone up too (someones buyin them).
I only head out there for the beach fishing, its great pulling up on the bike at your spot then chucking a line in.
would be great to have some legal access between te akau and the port for fishing.
The only prob i have with the mount is you gotta share it with 50,000 other tourists in summer, born and bred over there so the peace and tranquility of some of these west coast beaches suit me to a tee, only prob is the tua tuas and fishing aint no where as good as the east coast

Wonder if the locals have keys...
my mate has a house over there, he aint the kind to let a gate get in the way!
Also boat access around the corner that needs a key, i think he has one for that gate.
Blue tounge dragon key required i say! or i run it down with my Pajero!
