How much is a 1999 bandit 1200 worth?

Someone wants to swap my cage for a 1200 bandit. Its a 1999 and has done 56,000 kms.

What i want to know is what they are worth. Im looking to cash up and have already sold my other car and just need to sell this one so i can go and buy myself a newer car.

So perhaps looking at doing this trade and selling the bike instead. But would want to know a couple of prices.

    1. Whats it actually worth.. eg would it take 2 months to sell it at $5000.

    2. What would i get for it in a quick sale. eg. id sell it in say 1 or 2 weeks for something like $3500-$4000.

I would like to keep it and have two bikes, but i know it wont be as much fun as my thou.. and theres no way im paying for 2 regos of over $500 a year

    i traded a mint 98 1200 last week for 4k

so 4.5 i reckon sounds right for a private sale if its tidy

Insurance will only deny the claim if what you did wrong was material to the crash. Know this from first hand experience.

i think you will find that an unregistered and/or unwarranted bike will invalidate/void most claims.

    you got off lucky.

    stop spreading misinformation.

(and read the post i replyed to dickhead, no insurance company will pay out for an accident involving a bike with a plate from a different bike!)

Looks like you're right, BUT we all know the law is shades of grey. As per Ixions' quote referenced below, the insurance company has to prove that not having rego somehow contributed to your accident. Which is pretty much impossible.

    So, stop spreading misinformation.

They ARE entitled to cancel your insurance if they discover you have no rego.

Looks like you're reading and interpretation skills are pretty piss poor too, so I'll quote another post to try to clarify:

In short, you are covered as the fact you have not paid for a vehicle licence is arguably immaterial and they cannot deny cover on this basis regardless of the contract (see no contracting out). Of course they'll try, but don't they always, anyway?
