Where to get a custom cruiser made in NZ

Have a mate looking for a custom cruiser.

He dosnt just want a Harley with the screaming eagle catalog tacked on - he is after a real bespoke bike made just for him.

He would like to be involved in the build and keep an eye on what is happening, so he wants it made in NZ - not overseas and bringing in the bike once complete.

Budget - well thats his business, but Im sure he know that this will cost more than a gn-250.

Anyone got recommendations - or even an idea if there are places that can do this in NZ?

    So lemme get this straight ;

He wants a custom cruiser, thats not a harley, with out extensively using parts from a catalog on it (most stuff hand-made), and he would like to visit the workshop and he would like to help AAAAAND he would like to offer his opinion about it as well?

Just those last few non-mechanical things just doubled his hourly rate to begin with, and then there is all the drawing and fabrication from scratch. Maybe you might save him some time by permitting him to COPY some shit from a catalog at the very least! Even at Deus Ex Machina they bolt catalog shit on a vintage bike and charge 22k for it.

And to add insult to injury, he wants it CHEAP??????
In answer to your question "where" - NO FUCKING WHERE is the answer to that. You are pissing into a hurricane.

All you had to say was "no i don't know of anywhere", or not even reply, but you have to go on an abusive rant.
That really shows what type of person you are.

There are two or three sources for getting a classis/post classic race bike built from scratch - given that they need to eat like the rest of us why not approach one of them to see if they have the time/spare capacity to oblige.

WOW - you really are a fucktard. Not even a normal one - you are like a fucktard with downs.

I know its hard to imagine - esp for someone that rides a 2k piece of shit ho'bag - but there are some people that like to be different, want something that they have some say in, and are focused more on the bike rather than how cheaply they can do something.

    But let me help you.

Yes - he wants a custom cruiser - and what I said is that he dosnt want a harley (or any other brand) that simply has mass produced "tack on's" - thats not a custom bike - thats a normal bike with bling.

Yes - he understand that means a lot of handmade bits - that was the idea.

Whats your idea of bespoke - new stickers on the ho'bag?

You are think as shit - can you imaging going and asking for a custom bike and just ordering "a custom bike" - no you have to work with the designers and put forward what you want in the bike. Of course you get to offer your opinion - you are telling the guys what the fuck you want built. Like all things - when you are having something created - you might just want to go have a look at the progress. Again this is custom project - not a mass produced piece of shit. Its NORMAL to see the bike in progress and work on the design as it progresses.

At no point did I say he wanted to help build the thing - he would have no idea.

He seems focused on the bike - not just the hourly rate - and yes (again for the edgecombe slow of thinking) - he WANTS custom drawings and fabrication.

He is looking at lots of pics to see what he likes - but he wants something uniquely 'him'. And Im not permitting him anything - its his thing I just said I'd try to get recommendations (of course I also expected the usual uninformed, deranged rants of madmen also - but I wont pass them on)

He's a clever bloke - he know how much things like this cost - at no point did I say cheap. His other toys are out of this world - Im guessing that this bike will be also.

With all due respect (and thats not much, or any) - Im guessing you are better sticking with the budget stuff and leaving the big bikes to the grownups.

do they make ones that arent on fire? I find that bikes are better when the fire stays inside the engine

If he knows exactly want he wants (sounds like he does or will figure it out before the build anyway) it may pay to get different bits done at different places if theres no one place to do it all, precision engineering places could probably do a good portion of the work, then just send those parts to the chromers and you're halfway there already!

Top bloke - prefer getting stuff from him than all the bike shops in Auckland. He used to have some pics on his site of some sweet cruisers, dunno why they are gone now.
