had a weeeee off .. came across a piece of wet slippery diesel , rain , oil , you name it road just south of the waipua forest today on a ullyeses group ride. damn front wheel decided to part ways with me ..

RESULT : high side followed by the incrdable rolly polly down the road untill the bike decided to dig in and change direction , last i seen it slipping bouncing towards the drain .. as i managed to drive my left hand into the tarmac hard enough to change my slid direction to stop myself going under car approaching me.

    WEAR YOUR GEAR ! ..

both gloves warn throw .. sliders on pants slide lol .. pants worn throw knees and down to 2nd layer on butt .. jacket worn down on elbows and shoulders .. helmet scuffed as i played rolly polly ..

Injurys .. busted little finger , hair line fracture of knee cap , grazes , Friction burns on knee and elbows ..

agian WEAR YOUR GEAR .. can't stress that enough. i got away basicly un marked.

BIKE DAMAGE AT 1ST LOOK ...

yet to recove bike and take a closer look . just happy to be home safe and warm ...

Bugger me. I hope your bike is covered by insurance, then again, weather it is or not is not that important as you were lucky to walk (limp) away moderately uninjured.. As you say thank fark for wearing the right kit

You appear to have come close to going under the belly of a car and even at low speed this would not be a good thing.

Pleased you were not one of those fatal statistics.

A similar thing happened to me two weeks ago.

I never realised how lucky I was to walk away in one piece and I'm sure you're thinking the same thing.

Word of advice, keep some panadol/nurofen handy for the next day ... you're gonna feel like shit and if you don't, you're luckier than I was!

    From my recent experience,

GSXR + diesel patch + all the gear + oncoming 4WD = sad looking GSXR + walking rider + large insurance claim

    Glad you are OK.

Pleased to hear you are O.K Cracker (considering!!).

Not a lot you can do when you hit a patch of road like that at the wrong time. Hope you can rest up well and mend all your bangs and bruises as quickly as possible. Thank goodness for protection huh?

Take it easy bud - well done for walking away.
