North Head/Mt Victoria and other tunnels on the North Shore?

Is there anywhere or anyone that has maps of where to find the entrances and perhaps the layout of the tunnels which have public access at all times? Particularly North Head but also perhaps if there are any other tunnels at the emplacements along up towards Takapuna and further up to Torbay.

I've got some people at work who want to go check them out as they think I'm talking shit

"Public access"? So maps of all the open tunnels?
Possibly DoC or the local council.

The Devonport system was quite extensive but is not publicly accessible.

Yep - I've got a basic map of North Head, but I'm pretty sure there are more that you can access around the place.

Do a search there was an enormous thread about these , started I think by SixPackBack . The ones at the Fort wozzname place, bit further down the road (Vauxhall Rd ? maybe, somewhere , anyway, just follow your nose, can't miss it) are better. Dunno if they're strictly open to the public , but there's no gates that I saw. Where they had that bike gig a few months ago.

Fort Cautley. We spent about 4hrs at North Head last night and a pretty good time looking around the whole place. Will check out Fort Cautley next.

Is anyone aware of similarly interesting sites around Auckland that one could visit in the evening after work? i.e within 30-45mins drive of Central Auckland.
