Posted up a few pics of this thing in the build stage,its up an running and a 1st up 187 at the rear wheels pretty damn good,he reckons the only thing that stopped 200 was the rev limiter and once its all run in and sorted will be relatively easy to achieve.Nice work by a bloody talented guy.

Because he can and to be ridden in there hill climb series over there,the TL behind it (silver) has won him many trophies and awhile back he bought a new KTM only to find he went faster on the TL so sold the KTM kept the old S and built this,along the way its dispelled a few myths about TL cases and how much they will takeAmazing what someone can do in his own shed eh,hes got a pretty good recording set up on the other TL so no doubt will be taped up to this one,will post em up when provides footage.

Read a tuners report on the TL-R, reckoned they are fuggin' tuff sonsabitches. Not quite as tuff as that, but 1200 kits were mentioned as being no probs, sure does sound like fun!

It seems superchargers are a relatively easy way to add some big power.
The A&A supercharger kit for the VFR recently turned out a Vtec VFR in a mild state of tune that dynoed a higher figure on the very same dyno as one of the new BMW1000s. From memory, it was 183hp.

Pass on to him though that we found it neccessary to introduce a little slippage into the drive - if the drive has no "give", on overrun you risk shearing the blower shaft.
We finished up using a polyvee belt which will handle the load very well but will also slip slightly on overrun. The toothed belts used initially ripped teeh off regularly.

USD forks are there from the factory!!

Not precisely Torsional Vibration - actually simpler.
With a crank driven blower when you back off at say 10grand the engine intenals working against compresion will slow quicker than the blower.
Unless the drive has some form of torque limitaton something's gonna give... Typically teeth ripped off toothed belts - and I've seen a chain drive on a TQ shear the blower shaft.
We went through a rapid development phase some years ago with a roadrace bike - 15lb boost and 12000 rpm brought problems totally different to TQ's - and Drag racing too.
It's an interesting subject and the guy with the TL has done a nice job.
