Bummer Man, seems to be a coastal theme running here, an america and a speedmaster lost to the same uturning driver (who stopped mid lane) a few months ago, now yours !

Good to see you walked away Devo !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Sorry to hear about the off, mate. Hopefully the trumpy will be back to "as new" condition as soon as possible.

Bloody SMIDSY incidents... Glad the driver is being done.

    Heal up well!

Now that's good news! Glad to hear you're not too badly hurt. From recent exprience, though, as KatiePie says, it will take a bit of time for all the effects to come out, so don't be too hasty to get the body doing everything it was.

Thats actually bloody annoying innit? A driver pulled out through the left hand lane (where a kindly soul had let her through) and started into my right hand lane yesterday on the way home from work. I spotted her early, but was moving quite quickly, I started emergency braking and ajdusting direction to go around the back of her (assuming she carried on pulling out quickly the way she was doing). Instead, she spots me and slams anchors on. Now I find myself emergency braking directly towards her.

I managed to stop in time before her, and upright (just), but if I had hit her, I would have been out of my lane crossing into the left lane. If she had not seen me though, she would have done big damage to me if she T-boned me.

good to hear you are reasonably ok.
did the cops breath-test her, drug test, and make sure if her eyesight really is ok?
i reckon anytime someone has an accident, these tests should all be done.

Sorry to here that - at least you are OK ... something similar happened to me about 10 years ago ... car pulled out, then realized and hit the brakes .. if they'd booted it instead I would have been fine ... My BMW Paris Dakar made a mess of the car ...

But what was that about the bike saving you from gravel rash ? A mate of mine dropped a Triumph 650 back in the 70s .. and wrapped himself around the tank to save the paint work ... (yeah .. we all thought that was a bit OTT ...)

Obviously they are not very familiar with NZ laws. Somehow they think that admitting that they failed to look and see approaching dangers before causing injury is a defence.

Glad to hear you walked away with such minor injuries. I would not like to have been in your situation.
